Burley Minerals intersects additional spodumene-bearing pegmatites to the east and west of the main dyke at Chubb Central

Special Report: New assay data from drilling at the Chubb lithium project in Quebec, Canada has revealed additional spodumene-bearing pegmatite dykes within the Chubb Central mineralised zone.
Burley Minerals’ (ASX:BUR) Chubb lithium project, 25km north of the mining community of Val d’Or in the heart of the world-class lithium province of Québec, is centred within the Manneville Deformation Corridor, home to Québec’s only operating lithium mine.
The North American Lithium operation (NAL) owned by Sayona Mining (ASX:SYA) and Piedmont Lithium (ASX:PLL), has a 58Mt resource at 1.23% Li2O with a recommissioned plant only 10km north of Chubb and started production in the March 2023 quarter.
BUR rounded out 2023 with the completion of just under 13,000m of drilling as it continues to extend and expand the mineralised zone at Chubb Central – and an unexpected yet fortunate pollucite discovery may also provide an option for commercial caesium mining, a further value-add to the project.
Pegmatites part of a ‘stacked dyke’ system
New drilling data has highlighted additional-spodumene bearing pegmatite dykes to the east and west of the main dyke, which are interpreted as members of a parallel ‘stacked dyke’ system.
Spodumene-bearing pegmatite was intersected in holes CLP-057 and CLP-058, the newly identified Eastern Dyke, while hole CLP-065 intersected 6.1m @ 1.2% Li20 and 6.1m @ 1% Li2O, in the southern-most hole in western dyke, suggesting that spodumene mineralisation is broadening and still open.
Holes CLP-063 and CLP-066, the southern-most holes in the main dyke intersected 2.6m @ 1.2% Li20 and 11 m at 1.7% Li20, confirming that spodumene mineralisation exceeds a strike length of 600m.
Extent of mineralisation continues to grow
BUR managing director and CEO Stewart McCallion says the company is thrilled to discover additional spodumene-bearing pegmatites.
“As our exploration program advances, more mineralised dykes have been identified and the extent of mineralisation has grown materially since drilling commenced in April 2023,” he says.
“We are also very pleased that the assay results from CLP-063 have confirmed the presence of the caesium-bearing mineral pollucite in the Main Dyke, indicating an extremely evolved LCT pegmatite system which has the potential to add significant value to the project.”
