Special Report: Battery Age Minerals’ Phase 2 drilling is delivering on its goal of increasing the scale of lithium mineralisation at the company’s Falcon Lake project in Ontario, Canada.

Phase 2 drilling of between 10,000m and 20,000m was designed to test the pipeline of targets the company has developed outside known mineralisation at the Falcon Main prospect, where drilling returned standout hits such as 31.75m grading 1.45% Li2O from a down-hole depth of 14.46m and 27.6m at 1.37% Li2O.

That the Falcon Lake project is in one of the hottest lithium exploration addresses in Canada and counts other explorers such as Rock Teck, Imagine Lithium, Ultra Lithium and Green Technology Metals’ (ASX:GT1) – with its 9.9Mt at 1.04% Li2O flagship Seymour Lake project – certainly doesn’t hurt.

Battery Age Minerals (ASX:BM8) focused the initial Phase 2 program on the recently discovery Falcon East Extension step-out zone where earlier drilling returned an intercept of 19.1m at 1.34% Li2O.

All of the first 15 holes drilled intersected spodumene-bearing pegmatites, extending the scale of the discovery.

 

Results validate exploration approach

The company has now proven that significant lithium mineralisation is indeed present at Falcon East with assays returning notable intersections such as:

20.65m at 1.48% Li2O from 66.6m;
18.95m at 1.65% Li2O from 1.75m; and
18.45m at 1.4% Li2O from 37.8m.

Notably, the lithium assays confirm visual observations of spodumene mineralisation at Falcon East and its emergence as a discovery of scale and potential, while validating BM8’s exploration targeting approach.

“These outstanding assay results have confirmed the presence of thick, high-grade zones of lithium mineralisation at Falcon East Extension, a fantastic result for the team and strong vindication of our exploration approach,” BM8 interim chief executive Nigel Broomham said.

“The Phase II drilling program, which only commenced a few weeks ago, has already delivered in spades – highlighting the enormous potential across the broader Falcon Lake area.

“The results cap off a very busy year for our exploration team at Falcon Lake, where we have generated significant results in rapid time since mobilising our teams in June this year.”

 

Busy start to the new year on the cards

The resumption of Phase 2 drilling will see the company test more than 30 high-priority targets generated from the summer field work program.

“The drilling team will now take a break and are excited to recommence drilling operations in the New Year as we continue to drill test the numerous targets generated from the 2023 summer field work campaigns,” Broomham said.
