White Bear emerges as an ‘exciting’ new grassroots lithium discovery in Quebec

Fin Resources identifies high-grade lithium in four pegmatite outcrops from follow-up channel sampling at White Bear
Coarse spodumene-bearing lithium zone identified over a strike of ~300m and a width of up to 100m
Drill testing of this target within Cancet West to begin as soon as possible during Q1 2024

Special Report: Follow-up channel sampling at the White Bear discovery within Fin Resources’ Cancet West project in Quebec has returned high-grade lithium in four of the five spodumene-rich pegmatite outcrops.

The 79km2 Cancet West project is 45km from Winsome Resources’ (WR1:ASX) Cancet project and 100km from Patriot Battery Metals’ (PMT:ASX) huge Corvette lithium deposits.

White Bear itself was first discovered by Fin Resources (ASX:FIN) in October with samples returning both high grades of Li2O and pathfinder elements, along with low potassium-to-rubidium (K/Rb) ratios and elevated caesium (C).

Low K/Rb ratios are important when analysing what’s in the ground, as the lower they are, the more likely the potential for highly fractionated lithium-bearing pegmatites.

White Bear a ‘very exciting new grassroots discovery’

Assaying of the follow-up channel sampled outcrops returned results such as:

1m grading 2.39% Li2O;
1m at 2.16% Li2O and 1m at 1.23% Li2O;
1m at 1.09% Li2O; and
1m at 0.84% Li2O.

This batch of channel sample results confirm the previously reported “exceptionally high-grade” results of up to 6.85% Li20 from initial rock chip sampling at White Bear.

FIN has now defined a coarse spodumene-bearing lithium zone over a strike of ~300m with a width of up to 100m within the five pegmatite outcrops at White Bear.

Notably, the prospect has shot up the priority list and the company has submitted documents for an aggressive 5,000m drill program to test it in Q1 2024.

“These high-grade lithium channel sample results confirm that White Bear is a very exciting new grassroots discovery that warrants immediate drill testing,” FIN director Jason Bontempo said.

“The confirmation that we now have high-grade surface Li20 over a broad strike length of 300m and up to 100m wide with large spodumene crystals means we are extremely focussed on drill testing this exciting target as soon as possible during Q1 2024.”
