Norfolk Metals is excited to set the drill bit spinning over its Orroroo uranium project with the help of esteemed geo Mark Couzens.
Stockhead’s Ashtyn Hiron sits down with Norfolk Metals (ASX:NFL) Executive Chair Ben Phillips to get the short end of the long story on the company’s Orroroo uranium project.
The South Australian yellowcake play is inching towards a maiden drill program, spearheaded by veteran geologist and technical advisor Mark Couzens, who has overseen more than 1,000 holes testing uranium prospects throughout Australia and Argentina sandstone.
Orroroo has never been explored for uranium despite being the same age as sediments from the Frome Embayment, which plays host to several commercial deposits like the Honeymoon and Four Mile camps.
Big-picture, uranium has been on a tear since mid-to-late September after the World Nuclear Association (WNA) and uranium specialists Ux Consulting agreed that much more will be needed to meet demand in the next 10-20 years.
The energy metal is currently trading near US$74/lb with analysts predicting US$100/lb in the not-too-distant future.
Tune in to hear Ben Phillips on maiden drilling at Orroroo and what’s in store for the uranium spot price.
