Spartan’s latest drilling returns multiple double-digit widths at double-digit grades at Never Never
Today’s update includes one of the deposit’s best-ever assays from the deepest intersection to date
Results support ongoing resource-to-reserve conversion efforts while also increasing confidence in the geological model

Special Report: Recent drilling at Spartan’s Dalgaranga gold project has returned the deepest assay to date and the third best gram x metre intersection so far – 11.55m grading 36.77 g/t.

This exceptional drill result has expanded the mineralisation to about 830m vertical depth and around 1km down-dip of the current 952,000oz resource at the Never Never deposit in WA’s Murchison region.

Other standout new assay results include 13m @ 25.82 g/t gold from 624m (including 4m @ 51.53 g/t gold and 11.04m @ 11.69 g/t gold), demonstrating that the footprint of mineralisation at Never Never is expanding at depth.

Spartan Resources (ASX:SPR) believes these results support the potential to add further high-grade gold ounces, as well as ongoing resource to reserve conversion efforts.

Assays in line with growth strategy

“These latest assays provide further momentum to our growth strategy at Dalgaranga,” SPR managing director and CEO Simon Lawson says.

“The deepest Never Never assay has come from DGDH052, a deep ‘parent’ drill-hole designed as a hanging-wall platform for drilling multiple secondary or ‘daughter’ drill-holes into the growing Never Never system.

“Our primary focus with the daughter drill-holes is to target systematic in-fill of the Inferred portion of the recently updated 952,900oz Never Never gold deposit MRE aiming for strong conversion to the higher confidence Indicated Resource classification,” Lawson says.

“While we always drill holes to hit targets, we were prepared for the possibility of missing when drilling a deeper hole like DGDH052 – so the team were pretty excited to see good widths of our favourite style of gold mineralisation slide out into the core trays.”

‘Consistently delivering +100-gram-metre intercepts’

Many high-grade gold mines are lucky to see 30 to 50-gram x metre face and stope grades, equivalent to 3-5m widths of mineralisation grading ~10g/t gold grades.

Lawson says while those are good gold grades to be mining, Never Never drilling is consistently delivering +100-gram x metre intercepts, from surface to now almost 850m vertical depth below surface.

“Never Never is quickly becoming a major high grade gold discovery with gold at grades that are very rarely seen, with wide geometry and steep attitude,” he says.
