Rise and Shine: Everything you need to know before the ASX opens

Estimated read time 5 min read

On Stockhead today, We turn to that other forgotten critical minerals sector – the potassium, nitrogen, phosphate and bat-poo (guano) and cow-poo (which is 3% nitrogen, 2% phosphorus, and 1% potassium). And potash. Sector.

Most potash derives its agri-vitality from potassium chloride (KCl, also known as Muriate of Potash.

As a handily soluble deliverer of potassium, potash – and all of the minerals above – are absolutely critical to any business that does good out of primary plant nutrients. Which is everyone.

Bevis Yeo looks into the way we’re amping up our food production and provides a sitrep (link here if you’re wondering) – particularly for phosphate and potash fertilisers. And we meet a company at the… Centrex of it all.

But first, the day ahead.

Beston Global Foods (ASX:BFC) downgraded earnings guidance for the current half, blaming unprecedented inflationary cost pressures and insurance.

A rapid decline and significant volatility of whey protein prices – down 25% in the last 30 days — has exacerbated these cost impacts, it says.

Carbon counting stock Tymlez (ASX:TYM) lost its acting CEO Daniel O’Halloran, who resigned effective immediately “to devote more time to his family and personal commitments”.

And explorer Minrex Resources (ASX: MRR) has drilled a few dusters (low, sub-economic grades) at three lithium projects in WA.
