Seven premium EZZ products to be available at Auckland International Airport’s DFS store
The move is designed to capitalise on a rebound in Chinese tourist numbers into New Zealand

Special Report: EZZ Life Science Holdings is counting on a rebound in Chinese tourist numbers to increase sales of its premium genomic health products and has reached agreements with duty-free retailers to achieve this objective.

The company produces a range of health supplements, health food, haircare, children’s health and probiotics under the brand EZZ.

EZZ Life Science Holdings (ASX:EZZ) also has exclusive distribution rights for the EAORON brand of skin care products to pharmacies, supermarkets and specialist retailers in Australia and New Zealand.

Its focus on high-demand, high-margin products resulted in revenues for FY23 rising 147.3% over the previous year to $37.1m while EBITDA rose 172.5% to $4.8m.

More recently, the company launched three new Australian-made products – EZZ Hair Protector, EZZ Sugar Metabolism and EZZ Mount Peak III – to take its portfolio up to 51 products.

Duty-free deals

To increase the exposure of its products to Chinese tourists, EZZ has reached a collaboration with renowned duty-free retailer DFS to launch seven premium products at the latter’s Auckland International Airport store.

This follows on the company’s existing partnership with DFS which allows its products to be sold at the DFS flagship Sydney store.

Chinese tourists made up the largest inbound market for New Zealand until the COVID-19 pandemic slowed numbers down significantly.

However, it has picked up again in the last six months after New Zealand was named as one of 20 countries with “approved destination status” by China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

“We’re thrilled to expand our collaboration with DFS, building on the success we achieved in Sydney last year,” EZZ chairman Glenn Cross said.

“Post-COVID, Chinese tourists are increasingly prioritising health and we are excited to present our product range to them alongside other travellers, with such a renowned name in the duty-free retail industry.

“EZZ will launch seven products at DFS Auckland Airport including its popular EAORON hydration and anti-aging solutions, along with its flagship supplement, EZZ Bone Growth Chews.”
