Special Report: A soil sampling program has begun across the entire 77km2 granted tenements at the Lady Grey project to provide greater coverage on granite contact areas adjacent to the world-class Early Grey lithium mine.

Lanthanein Resources (ASX:LNR) entered into an agreement to earn up to 70% of the Lady Grey lithium-tantalum project in December 2023.

The farm-in agreements covers 77km2 of prospective tenure and 18km of strike in the proven, world-class Forrestania greenstone belt – home to Covalent Lithium’s 189Mt @ 1.53% Li2O Early Grey mine, the centrepiece of the Mt Holland lithium project co-owned by Wesfarmers and SQM.

Notably for LNR, the 77km2 Lady Grey project hosts a mapped continuation of the Earl Grey pegmatite within what is described as one of the largest operating lithium mines in Western Australia.

Boots on the ground exploration begins

The company finally has boots on the ground doing the essential exploration work to follow up on a recent site visit which confirmed the potential of the Lady Grey project.

It is anticipated the program will collect ~1,400 samples and take around two weeks to complete.

According to LNR technical director Brian Thomas, the tenement-wide soils program will give far greater coverage than the much smaller targeted program carried out by the previous operator, which only focused on covering the radiometric anomaly in the northeast corner of the tenement immediately adjacent to Earl Grey.

Awaiting heritage clearance for drill access

“Of particular interest for this new program are the granite contact areas adjacent to the western and north-western boundary,” Thomas says.

“Following confirmation of heritage clearance for drill access, we will then be able to begin the POW approved program.

“This includes 50 RC holes and 193 AC holes over the area of the radiometric anomaly and geochemical responses in the northeast corner immediately adjacent to Earl Grey.”
