2024 Roku Ultra Launches with Speed Boost and Updated Voice Remote

The 2024 Roku Ultra is the latest version of the popular streaming device, announced today at the company’s developer conference. This upgraded model promises faster performance and enhanced features to improve the streaming experience.

Roku’s latest Ultra model boasts a 30% improvement in content loading and interface navigation speed, thanks to a new quad-core processor. The device comes with Dolby Atmos audio and Dolby Vision, supporting 4K and HDR10+ picture quality for an exceptional viewing experience. In addition to Wi-Fi 6 support, the Ultra can also be connected via ethernet for a more stable streaming connection.

A New Remote and Features

The 2024 Roku Ultra introduces an updated Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition). This new version comes with backlit buttons for easier use in the dark, USB-C charging, and direct access to Roku’s Live TV Guide. One of the most anticipated features is “Quick Launch,” which offers a personalized screen that highlights a user’s most-used apps and voice commands.

The remote retains all the standard features for content selection and playback, enhancing convenience while watching shows or movies.

Roku OS 14 Updates

In conjunction with the hardware upgrade, Roku is also launching Roku OS 14. This new operating system offers more customization options, such as thumbs-up and thumbs-down icons for users to provide feedback on the programming they enjoy. This improvement is aimed at delivering better, more personalized recommendations.

Roku OS 14 also integrates Kids & Family content into the main home screen, making it easier to access, and introduces additional voice controls. The OS update is expected to roll out to supported devices in the U.S. over the next few months.

The 2024 Roku Ultra delivers several quality-of-life improvements that make it easier to control content and devices. With its faster performance, upgraded remote, and Wi-Fi 6 support, the new Ultra is poised to maintain its position as one of the top streaming devices on the market.
