Explorers Podcast: Why Mako Gold is sinking its teeth into this manganese discovery

Estimated read time 2 min read

Stockhead’s ‘Garimpeiro’ columnist Barry FitzGerald is back in the studio for another instalment of The Explorers Podcast.

In this episode Barry chats to Peter Ledwidge, founder and managing director at Mako Gold (ASX:MKG).

While Mako Gold is perhaps best known for its flagship Napié gold discovery in Côte d’Ivoire (870,000oz and growing), Peter shares with Barry in this episode a new kind of discovery which has the team just as excited.

Last year in Côte d’Ivoire, Mako happened upon a chance encounter with an 8km long manganese trend. The explorer quickly launched into a tentpole RC drilling program to follow up on rock chip sampling results which graded above 20% manganese.
