Battery Age Minerals’ Phase 2 drilling returns multiple spodumene-bearing pegmatite intersections at the Falcon East Extension
Falcon East Extension is the first of +30 targets to be tested by the 10,000-20,000m program
Initial assays of priority holes expected in the coming weeks
Special Report: Battery Age Minerals’ Phase 2 drilling is off to a great start, highlighting the potential for scale at its Falcon Lake lithium project in Ontario with multiple new +20m intersections at the Falcon East Extension.
Phase 2 drilling of between 10,000m and 20,000m started early in November at Falcon Lake, which sits within one of Canada’s lithium exploration hotspots, with a focus on the recently discovered step-out zone at Falcon East.
Earlier drilling by Battery Age Minerals (ASX:BM8) at Falcon East had returned an intersection of 19.1m at 1.34% Li2O.
More recently, the company was granted a secondary drilling permit allowing it to carry out Phase 2 drilling across the entire 5km prospective corridor that has been identified to date.
This includes an allowance for up to 135 drill pads for the program.
BM8 is aggressively drilling across the Falcon Lake project after its maiden program returned standout intersections such as 31.75m at 1.45% Li2O from 14.46m and 27.6m at 1.37% Li2O, confirming historical drilling that returned results of up to 24.4m at 1.43% Li2O.
Just scratching the surface
The company has now confirmed that all 15 holes drilled to date since Phase 2 started have intersected spodumene-bearing pegmatites with the largest intersection being hole 23FL-071 that struck 26.4m of mineralised pegmatite from a down-hole depth of 46.8m.

Notably, it has significantly extended the recent Falcon East Extension discovery, with the extension being the first of +30 targets generated from the recently completed summer field campaign to be tested.
“We are very excited with these initial results from the Phase II drill program, which only commenced four weeks ago, and we are looking forward to updating the market with the assay results shortly,” interim chief executive officer Nigel Broomham said.
“This area is the first target to be tested of the 30+ targets generated from the summer field work campaign, and we are pleased to have intercepted spodumene-bearing pegmatite in all 15 holes drilled since the re-commencement of drilling.
“The team has only just begun to scratch the surface, and we believe the recent results highlight the potential to identify discoveries of scale at Falcon Lake.
“The Phase II program is designed to systematically test the strong pipeline of targets we have developed outside the known mineralisation at Falcon Main, and we are looking forward to what this work can deliver in the months ahead.”
Assay results are being expedited for priority holes with results expected in the next few weeks.
