Mapping and sampling have extended individual outcropping pegmatites within the northern pegmatite system
New rock chip samples up to 2.06% Li2O have also been received
Planning is under way for a maiden shallow drilling program, which will be conducted as soon as possible following a DMIRS Program of Works approval
Special Report: Accelerate has identified at least two parallel zones of spodumene-rich, lithium-bearing pegmatite systems spanning the entire width of the tenement area at the Prinsep lithium project.
Accelerate Resources (ASX:AX8) added the Prinsep lithium project to its battery metals portfolio in early October following the acquisition of the Karratha lithium projects, a group of four assets that strengthen the company’s position in the emerging 40km long Roebourne-Karratha lithium belt.
The Karratha lithium belt is prime real estate where recent discoveries include Azure Minerals’ (ASX:AZS) monstrous Andover project (exploration target 100-240Mt @ 1-1.5% Li2O).

Together, the four projects represent ~90km2 of lithium prospective ground with Prinsep being the most advanced.
Due diligence investigations revealed two parallel spodumene-rich outcropping pegmatite systems, which generated rock chip samples of up to 1.87% lithium and represent a series of “walk-up” drill targets.

Detailed mapping and follow-up sampling has confirmed and extended individual outcropping pegmatites within Prinsep’s northern pegmatite system to 1.8kms with outcrop widths up to 60m.
The western extent of this northern system is inferred to extend a further 300m beneath shallow alluvium, suggesting a combined strike of the northern system of potentially 2,000m.
Meanwhile, the Southern Pegmatite System is defined by multiple sheared dykes occurring within a zone up to 50m wide.

Significant new rock samples were also received and include:
2.06% Li2O;
1.63% Li2O; and
1.14% Li2O.
What’s next?
Planning is currently under way for a maiden, shallow drilling program, which will be conducted as soon as possible following a DMIRS Program of Works approval and heritage clearance approvals.
Reconnaissance work continues at AX8’s Mt Sholl, Mt Sholl East and Roebourne South projects.
At Mt Sholl East, preliminary investigations have identified broad zones of pegmatitic granite and discrete pegmatite dykes with rock chip samples submitted for assay.
Further work, including detailed mapping and sampling will be prioritised to determine lithium prospectivity in this area.
