The Unicorns Podcast connects you to some of the best and brightest founders, CEOs, executives, business owners, innovators, entrepreneurs and inspiring leaders who make things happen and inspire others.
Host Justin Kelly, former broadcast journalist and PR veteran, chats with leaders from across Australia and internationally on business strategy; what it takes to build a successful company; how to overcome challenges, and advice for those on a similar journey.
In this episode, Justin talks with Marco Prayer, co-founder of RecycleSmart – the so called “Uber for Waste.”
RecycleSmart is a pioneering startup with a bold mission to simplify recycling. Its “Power Pickup” service provides on-demand doorstep collection for over 100 challenging recyclable materials, including soft plastics, e-waste, textiles, batteries, and more. Serving individuals and businesses in Sydney, Melbourne and now Brisbane, RecycleSmart has diverted 570,000kg of resources from landfill in just four years.
The waste-management initiative collects almost everything that can’t be placed in the yellow council bins and recycles or repurposes it.
In this episode, we dive deep into RecycleSmart’s journey, explore their recent expansion into Brisbane, and learn how they’re tackling critical environmental challenges, such as diverting valuable materials from landfill, reducing waste-related emissions, and making recycling accessible for households and businesses. We’ll uncover the secrets behind their success and the transformative impact they’re having on our planet.
