Arizona Lithium has cut the ribbon on pilot plant operations as lithium reaches celebrity status.

Stockhead’s Ashtyn Hiron sits down with Arizona Lithium (ASX:AZL) managing director Paul Lloyd to get the short end of the long story on pilot plant operations at the Prairie lithium project.

Work on the plant continues apace, and Paul says the company has the headstart needed to springboard into production.

It’s a good time to be in the lithium game: Lloyd is on the ground at Benchmark Mineral Intelligence’s lithium conference in LA, where the firm announced that former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger would receive the first-ever lifetime achievement award for his work supporting the clean energy transition.

In his acceptance speech, Schwarzenegger called lithium players ‘environmental warriors’, emphasising how companies in this space are committed to moving the green energy story forward.
