Peak assay of 61.39g/t gold returned in M2M’s ongoing RC drill campaign
Results to be incorporated into an upcoming maiden resource estimate
Golden Crown is part of two-year goal of developing shallow-gold mining opportunities
Special Report: Mt Malcolm Mines has turned up the highest gold intersection ever recorded – a whopping 61.39g/t – at its Golden Crown prospect near Leonora.
Golden Crown is the first of several prospects within Mt Malcolm’s (ASX:M2M) portfolio currently undergoing detailed exploration with an overall objective of building a high-grade resource out in the WA Goldfields.
Based on previous data, M2M believes Golden Crown can produce 42,000-79,000oz when it formulated its exploration target for the historical prospect in September last year.
The explorer is working tirelessly towards a maiden resource with visible gold cropping up from shallow depths across numerous intersections.
High-grade intercepts
RC drilling focused on a 150m x 120m target corridor identified from geological modelling where M2M reckons can potentially host plunging ore shoots with 60 holes across 2,772m completed this year.
Assays revealed notable high-grade intercepts including a peak assay of 1m @ 61.39g/t gold between 16-17m and five intercepts of >15g/t gold, while 15 of the total of 60 exceeded 5g/t – showcasing the nature of the mineralisation.
Of note, this includes 6m @ 24.45g/t gold (12-18m) within a broader mineralised high-grade zone of 10m @ 15.40g/t gold (10-20m), including 2m @ 51.07g/t gold (16-18m) in drillhole 24GCRC060.
Plans for extension drilling are under way that could uncover potential deeper and along-strike mineralisation at the prospect.

Breathing new life into Golden Crown
“Golden Crown prospect resource definition drilling results have returned the highest ever assay results within shallow mineralisation providing an ideal environment for cost-effective mining operations,” M2M managing director Trevor Dixon says.
“Focused work from our geological team has delivered a breath of new life into this classic old producer from a bygone era.
“We are committed to achieving critical milestones whilst advancing Golden Crown towards development.”
