Survey will highlight and define structural trends, areas of contrasting resistivity as well as electromagnetic conductors
MobileMT will also be used to identify sedimentary and volcanic-hosted copper potential
Special Report: White Cliff Minerals has appointed Expert Geophysics to carry out an airborne geophysical survey over high priority targets at its Coppermine project in Nunavut, Canada, during Q2 2024.
Coppermine covers 805km2 of flood basalts – including multiple, highly prospective mineral showings/outcrops where historical exploration has identified dozens of occurrences of copper and silver mineralisation.
This previous work returned high-grade results such as 30.24% copper and 34g/t silver, as well as 30.25% copper and 43g/t silver from the Halo prospect.
White Cliff Minerals (ASX:WCN) previously noted the numerous historical non-JORC and ‘blue sky’ mineral estimates along a +100km structural trend would be a priority for exploration during 2024.
Coppermine is now fully permitted after the company received a positive conformity determination for its licences from the Nunavut Planning Commission (NPC).

Airborne survey to guide further exploration
WCN’s plan to carry out the first systematic exploration over Coppermine in decades will kick off with the survey by Expert Geophysics (EGL) – a recognised world leader in airborne geophysical surveys.
The 2,336 line km survey will highlight and define structural trends, areas of contrasting resistivity, as well as electromagnetic conductors that may be associated with and synchronous to high-grade copper mineralisation at the project.
It will also use EGL’s advanced Mobile MagnetoTellurics System to acquire high sensitivity magnetic data with a focus on both sedimentary and volcanic-hosted copper potential.
Taken together, this program is expected to optimise drill targets and exploration across the Coppermine project.
