{"id":9790,"date":"2024-05-20T04:43:43","date_gmt":"2024-05-20T04:43:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=9790"},"modified":"2024-05-20T04:43:43","modified_gmt":"2024-05-20T04:43:43","slug":"equinox-resources-has-struck-high-grades-at-mata-da-corda-in-brazil-one-of-the-hottest-rare-earths-locations-on-the-planet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=9790","title":{"rendered":"Equinox Resources has struck high grades at Mata da Corda in Brazil, one of the hottest rare earths locations on the planet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&gt;2000ppm TREO returned from Equinox Resources\u2019 samples at Mata da Corda<br \/>\nMaiden drilling complete at Rio Negro prospect in Bahia State<br \/>\nBrazil is one of the world\u2019s most highly prospective rare earths regions on the planet<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em><\/strong><strong>: Equinox Resources has returned exceptionally high REE grades from surface clay and channel sample results at its Mata da Corda project and wrapped up a maiden drill campaign at the highly prospective Rio Negro prospect at Campo Grande.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Brazil is hotting up as the new epicentre of rare earth discoveries, with super high grades being uncovered across the country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/ree-survival-guide-part-3-these-asx-juniors-are-pouring-into-brazils-rare-earths-scene\/\"><strong>REE Survival Guide Part 3 \u2013 these ASX juniors are pouring into Brazil\u2019s rare earths scene<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/equinox-resources-eqn\/\"><strong>Equinox Resources (ASX:EQN)<\/strong><\/a> itself has pegged a huge 1760km2 landholding in the emerging Bahia State\u2019s Rocha da Rocha rare earths district for its Campo Grande project \u2013 where Gina Rinehart\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/brazilian-rare-earths-bre\/\"><strong>Brazilian Rare Earths (ASX:BRE)<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/australian-mines-auz\/\"><strong>Australian Mines (ASX:AUZ)<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/gold-mountain-gmn\/\"><strong>Gold Mountain (ASX:GMN)<\/strong><\/a> have all laid claims.<\/p>\n<p>EQN recently raised $4m to accelerate exploration of its Matas da Corda and Campo Grande REE projects after <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/equinox-resources-has-just-jumped-into-brazils-red-hot-rare-earths-scene\/\"><strong>jumping into the region<\/strong><\/a> in November last year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Exceptional results from Mata da Corda<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Initial assay results from surface clay and channel clay samples at Mata da Corda have returned exceptionally high REE grades, with over 10km2 of the project area sampled returning &gt;2000 ppm total rare earth oxides (TREO).<\/p>\n<p>The explorer is progressing planning on identified drill targets and expediting land access and environmental authorisation so it can commence drilling in late June\/early July, where multiple initial surface samples returned exceptionally high grades up to 5,024ppm TREO.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Potential drill prospects at Mata da Corda IAC project. Pic supplied: (EQN)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Proving up Campo Grande<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>1432m comprised of 126 auger drill holes and three RC drill holes have been completed to date on the Rio Negro prospect.<\/p>\n<p>The first RC hole intersected a 41m-thick layer of predominantly reddish, magnetic clay, transitioning to hard rock with varying magnetic intensities, reaching a depth of 120m below the surface. The second hole encountered an 11m-thick layer of similarly coloured magnetic clay.<\/p>\n<p>Further mapping is being carried out at the northern part of Campo Grande, just 10km from BRE\u2019s Monte Alto discovery, which has shown the highest-grade results to date \u2013 returning up to 40.5% TREO.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Campo Grande surface sampling results in relation to Brazilian Rare Earths\u2019 tenements.
