{"id":9607,"date":"2024-05-14T02:00:26","date_gmt":"2024-05-14T02:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=9607"},"modified":"2024-05-14T02:00:26","modified_gmt":"2024-05-14T02:00:26","slug":"mako-puts-korhogo-in-the-shop-window-for-partners-and-looks-to-drill-the-tchaga-north-gold-prospect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=9607","title":{"rendered":"Mako puts Korhogo in the shop window for partners and looks to drill the Tchaga North gold prospect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Trenching complete at the high-grade Tchaga North gold prospect at Mako Gold\u2019s Napi\u00e9 project<br \/>\nPartnerships for exploration of Korhogo being discussed<br \/>\nDrill program at Tchaga North to be planned, pending assay results<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em><\/strong><strong>: Mechanical trenching of high-grade gold at Tchaga North will help formulate a drill plan at Mako Gold\u2019s Napi\u00e9 project in Co\u0302te d\u2019Ivoire, while the hunt is on for partners to help explore Korhogo and its manganese prospectivity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/mako-gold-mkg\/\">Mako Gold\u2019s (ASX:MKG)<\/a> focus is on Napi\u00e9 in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire,\u00a0where it has a 868,000oz-maiden resource.<\/p>\n<p>In efforts to bolster its inventory the company is currently doing a bunch of low-cost mapping, sampling and trenching exercises across the project area to generate new targets for drill testing.<\/p>\n<p>Tchaga North has emerged as a standout prospect, with a rock chip sampling program unearthing <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/rock-chip-revelation-new-gold-zone-at-makos-tchaga-north-returns-up-to-76-10-g-t\/\"><strong>super high-grade gold up to 79.50g\/t<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trenching is now complete on these newly identified high-grade zones, with samples now in the lab for assaying.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A trenching program has been completed at Tchaga North with quartz stockworks. Pic supplied: (MKG)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Due diligence on acquiring neighbour Goldridge Resources \u2014 a privately owned company associated with the founders of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/tietto-minerals-tie\/\">Tietto (ASX:TIE)<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 is competed, the company says.<\/p>\n<p>Goldridge is currently completing a 4000m diamond drill program to test prospective targets.<\/p>\n<p>MKG says it will wait for assay results from the program before making a final assessment of the project prior to resuming discussions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Korhogo partnership opportunities<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>MKG is looking for a strategic partnership on its Korhogo manganese project, also in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, to focus on Napi\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>MKG says Korhogo could host manganese mineralisation across an area 8km long, 4km wide and at least 250m deep.<\/p>\n<p>Samples have been sent to the lab for metallurgical testwork to further determine beneficiation for a saleable grade for steel production.<\/p>\n<p>Those positive results are making the project for attractive to JV partners as MKG looks to concentrate efforts on advancing Napi\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>The explorer says it\u2019s been encouraged by recent market interest \u2013 so much so that site visits are planned in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to have attracted the attention of several interested parties for a potential strategic partnership on the Korhogo project, which validates the significance of our manganese discovery,\u201d MKG MD Peter Ledwidge says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cManganese prices have risen significantly following the impact of Cyclone Megan on global manganese production, as well as its increased use in the EV revolution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMako is well leveraged on the resurgence of both gold and manganese prices and is looking forward to providing newsflow throughout the year on the advancement of the Napi\u00e9 and Korhogo projects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Mako Gold, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
