{"id":9221,"date":"2024-05-07T02:38:24","date_gmt":"2024-05-07T02:38:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=9221"},"modified":"2024-05-07T02:38:24","modified_gmt":"2024-05-07T02:38:24","slug":"asx-health-stocks-recce-scores-patent-win-in-china-for-its-infection-drugs-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=9221","title":{"rendered":"ASX Health Stocks: Recce scores patent win in China for its infection drugs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recce Pharma scores a patent win in China, extending protection until 2035<br \/>\n4D Medical joins forces with the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center for a lung study<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Recce Pharma scores China patent<\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/recce-pharmaceuticals-rce\/\">Recce Pharmaceuticals (ASX:RCE)<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0revealed that the <em>China National Intellectual Property Administration<\/em> has officially given the green light to a new Patent Family 2 for Recce\u2019s anti-infectives called <em>\u201cCopolymer and Method for Treatment of Bacterial Infection\u201d<\/em> in China.<\/p>\n<p>The patent will give Recce Pharma protection until 2035.<\/p>\n<p>The Chinese patent claims focus on <strong>RECCE 327 (R327)<\/strong> and <strong>RECCE 529 (R529)<\/strong>, particularly on how they\u2019re made, used, and applied to tackle a wide range of common human infections.<\/p>\n<p>China is the second-largest pharmaceutical market globally, ringing in at around US$140 billion in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The industry has been growing at an average annual growth rate of about 3.2% in 2023, and it\u2019s expected to keep on growing thanks to rising demand, healthcare reforms, and government backing for pharmaceutical R&amp;D.<\/p>\n<p>This approval marks the final of Recce\u2019s wholly owned patents granted for Family 2, with the company now patent-protected in all major pharmaceutical markets globally.<\/p>\n<p>Recce has been working on a new kind of medicine to fight against tough bugs that don\u2019t respond to regular antibiotics, as well as emerging viruses.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s anti-infective lineup includes three patented synthetic polymer medicines:<\/p>\n<p>RECCE 327, used as an injection or topical treatment for severe bacterial infections, including superbugs<br \/>\nRECCE 435, taken by mouth to treat bacterial infections<br \/>\nRECCE 529, for viral infections.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>4D Medical snags US partner to conduct lung study<\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/4d-medical-4dx\/\">4D Medical (ASX:4DX)<\/a><\/strong> is teaming up with the <strong>West Los Angeles VA Medical Center<\/strong> to commence a study called the <em>Veteran Affairs Functional Lung Imaging Study (VAFLIS)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This partnership will use <strong>4DX\u2019s XV Technology<\/strong> to look into different chronic lung problems that cause similar symptoms.<\/p>\n<p>The aim is to admit 40 patients in the study and use XV Technology to see how well the lungs are working for patients with chronic lung problems, and how this affects their quality of life, their ability to walk for six minutes, and how breathless they feel.<\/p>\n<p>The final goal is to see if treatments can actually improve lung function, which could then help decide the best way to treat patients, such as whether they need more hospital care or follow-up appointments.<\/p>\n<p>4DMedical\u2019s XV Technology is all about tracking how the lungs move and how well they\u2019re ventilating during regular breathing.
