{"id":8940,"date":"2024-04-30T02:53:12","date_gmt":"2024-04-30T02:53:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=8940"},"modified":"2024-04-30T02:53:12","modified_gmt":"2024-04-30T02:53:12","slug":"assays-pending-from-western-yilgarns-copper-nickel-and-lithium-drill-blitz-at-ida-holmes-junction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=8940","title":{"rendered":"Assays pending from Western Yilgarn\u2019s copper, nickel, and lithium drill blitz at Ida Holmes Junction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>High priority targets selected from the current inventory of 24 are being tested as part of Western Yilgarn\u2019s ongoing Phase 4 auger drilling at Ida Holmes Junction<br \/>\nExploration underway at new tenements of farm-in deal with Fleet Street Holdings<br \/>\nPending assay results aim to delineate AC\/RC drill targets<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em><\/strong><strong>: Interim assay results are pending from the Phase 4 auger geochemistry drilling campaign underway across several of 24 prospective targets at Western Yilgarn\u2019s Ida Holmes Junction project in WA.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Highly prospective for copper, nickel, platinum group elements, and LCT pegmatites Ida Holmes Junction is ~50km southwest of Gold Fields\u2019 Agnew Gold project and centred on the intersection of the Holmes Dyke and the Mt Ida Fault.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s comprised of six granted contiguous exploration licenses covering a combined ~477km2 and <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/western-yilgarn-wyx\/\"><strong>Western Yilgarn (ASX:WYX)<\/strong><\/a> has the option to farm-in to an additional 207km2 after reaching an agreement with Fleet Street Holdings projects covering the Holmes Dyke.<\/p>\n<p>The tenements cover the intersection of Holmes Dyke and the regional Ida Fault, which is interpreted to be a fundamental, early steep structure effectively marking the boundary between the Eastern Goldfields Super Terrane in the east and the Youanmi Terrane to the west.<\/p>\n<p>Ida Holmes Junction also enjoys nearology to the Leinster and Mt Keith operations \u2013 two world-class nickel projects operated by <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/bhp-bhp\/\"><strong>BHP (ASX:BHP)<\/strong><\/a>, along with several +2Moz gold operations including the Agnew, Lawlers and Bellevue mining operations.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also 60km from <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/delta-lithium-dli\/\"><strong>Delta Lithium\u2019s (ASX:DLI)<\/strong><\/a> 12.7Mt @ 1.2% Li2O Mt Ida lithium project and 90km south of <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/liontown-resources-ltr\/\"><strong>Liontown Resources\u2019 (ASX:LTI)<\/strong><\/a> 156Mt @ 1.4% Li2O Kathleen Valley.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Phase 4 kicks off<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Assay results from early holes are pending\u00a0 from Phase 4 auger drilling campaign testing several of <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/more-nickel-copper-pge-targets-confirmed-at-bulga-as-western-yilgarn-moves-into-phase-4\/\"><strong>24 high-priority copper-nickel-PGE and LCT pegmatite targets<\/strong><\/a> discovered during the first three phases of the program.<\/p>\n<p>646 auger drill holes have been completed so far in the southeast section of the recently granted E36\/1066 lease with samples now in Perth for pXRF assay.<\/p>\n<p>An auger geochemistry team has now relocated to the far western end of the project to complete planned sampling relating to a potential copper target identified through previous rock and soil samples.<\/p>\n<p>With activities now underway on Fleet Street Holdings\u2019 most westerly lease \u201cHells Gate\u201d (E57\/1235) as well, the team has relocated to a base at Sandstone.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><em>The Ida Holmes Junction project and surrounding projects.
