{"id":8742,"date":"2024-04-24T02:13:50","date_gmt":"2024-04-24T02:13:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=8742"},"modified":"2024-04-24T02:13:50","modified_gmt":"2024-04-24T02:13:50","slug":"rock-chip-revelation-new-gold-zone-at-makos-tchaga-north-returns-up-to-76-10-g-t","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=8742","title":{"rendered":"Rock chip revelation: New gold zone at Mako\u2019s Tchaga North returns up to 76.10 g\/t"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rock chip sampling unveils a new high-grade zone called the \u2018Central Zone\u2019 on Mako Gold\u2019s Napi\u00e9 permit<br \/>\nResults returned a stand out 76.10 g\/t gold result, confirming Tchaga North as a high-grade drill target<br \/>\nTrenching has begun to assist with the planning of upcoming drill program <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special report: Mako Gold geologists continue to yield impressive results via mapping and rock chip sampling with early indications pointing to a new high-grade zone at Tchaga North. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Recent work at <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/mako-gold-mkg\/\">Mako Gold\u2019s (ASX:MKG)<\/a> Napi\u00e9 project in Co\u0302te d\u2019Ivoire has centred around generating new targets at Tchaga North, a prospect the explorer considers to be of the highest priority.<\/p>\n<p>The western part of this area has been identified as being a high-grade gold target by the company\u2019s previous reverse circulation (RC) program, which returned values up to 1m at 44.86 g\/t gold.<\/p>\n<p>It also hosts the deepest artisanal mining site on the Napi\u00e9 permit with depths of around 30-40m \u2013 from MKG\u2019s point of view, artisanal miners wouldn\u2019t be chasing quartz veins to those depths if they were not high grade.<\/p>\n<p>Since there is very little outcrop at Tchaga North, artisanal mining provides excellent new rock exposures for geological mapping and sampling, one of the benefits from working in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rock chip results up to 76.10 g\/t gold <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MKG\u2019s ongoing rock chip sampling program has unveiled a new high-grade gold zone called the \u2018Central Zone\u2019 with rock chip returning 76.10 g\/t gold, 24.34 g\/t gold, 12.95 g\/t gold and 6.92 g\/t gold.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>New high grade rock chip sampling results shown in yellow with previous rock chip results shown in white. Pic: Mako Gold<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Most of the samples were collected from quartz veins associated with the recently identified east-west structural trends which have yet to be tested by drilling.<\/p>\n<p>The sample which returned 76.10g\/t gold was taken from an in-situ quartz vein striking east-west at a new artisanal mining site, where previous drill holes were drilled to the east and would not have intersected the newly discovered high-grade quartz veins which are oriented east-west.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>New artisanal mining site which returned rock chip values up to 76.10g\/t gold. Pic: Mako Gold<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So far, the geological mapping and rock chip sampling program has turned up three high-grade gold zones along a 6km corridor including the Central Zone, the Ladder Zone and the Double Zone.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>\u2018A new standout\u2019 <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled with the discovery of yet another high-grade zone on Tchaga North, with early indications from rock chips pointing towards this area being a new standout,\u201d MKG managing director Peter Ledwidge says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDetailed geological mapping is continuing to yield excellent results, including this newly discovered zone which adds to the inventory of high-grade gold at the prospect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Trenching program at Tchaga North kicks off <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Ledwidge says the logical next step is to trench these three zones to map and take continuous samples of host rock and quartz veins.<\/p>\n<p>Results of the trenching program will assist in planning a drill program at these areas to target high-grade gold.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Mako Gold, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
