{"id":868,"date":"2023-11-02T02:37:49","date_gmt":"2023-11-02T02:37:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=868"},"modified":"2023-11-02T02:37:49","modified_gmt":"2023-11-02T02:37:49","slug":"two-discoveries-in-six-weeks-james-bay-minerals-has-lithium-drill-targets-all-over-the-joint-at-aero","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=868","title":{"rendered":"Two Discoveries in Six Weeks: James Bay Minerals has lithium drill targets all over the joint at Aero"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>James Bay Minerals discovers second field of spodumene-rich fractionated pegmatite dykes at its Aero property in just six weeks<br \/>\nNew field hosts nine pegmatite dykes over an area of 1.5km by 500m<br \/>\nAero is just one of four project areas at the company\u2019s La Grande project<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>James Bay Minerals\u2019 strong start to listed life continues as it discovers a second field of fractionated pegmatite dykes \u2013 highly prospective for lithium deposits \u2014 at its Aero property in Quebec\u2019s red hot James Bay region.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aero consists of 89 continuous claims across 43.65km2 and contains ~12km of deformation zones considered highly prospective for lithium-caesium-tantalum pegmatites, the classic target of hard rock lithium exploration.<\/p>\n<p>Similar deformation zones host the lithium resources at both Winsome Resources\u2019 (ASX:WR1) nearby Cancet West project and Patriot Battery Metals\u2019 (ASX:PMT) top tier Corvette project that has a resource of 109.2Mt at 1.42% Li2O.<\/p>\n<p>James Bay\u2019s new 1.5km long by 500m wide discovery follows on the discovery of a pegmatite field with 21 fractionated pegmatite dykes \u2013 including the initial Avro pegmatite \u2013 that extends over a corridor stretching across 3km with a width of up to 350m.<\/p>\n<p>Most pegmatite lithium deposits are usually associated with high \u2018fractionation\u2019 \u2013 i.e. the ancient geological process in which the crystals are separated from magma.<\/p>\n<p>This new field is interpreted to be an extension of the previously discovered field 2km away, James Bay Minerals (ASX:JBY) says.\u00a0 Likewise, the newly discovered dykes within the eastern field also plunge under cover, trending to the north.<\/p>\n<p>Exploration partner Breakaway Exploration has completed rock chip and rock saw channel sampling across the field. All samples have been submitted to the laboratory for assays.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>More discoveries to be made<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Aero is just one of four project areas in JBY\u2019s broader La Grande project, meaning that there\u2019s plenty of ground for the company to make more discoveries in.<\/p>\n<p>Recent helicopter surveys of the Aqua property have already identified multiple large outcropping pegmatite dykes, some of which appear to be part of the broad pegmatite field discovered by FIN Resources (ASX:FIN) at its Cancet West project.<\/p>\n<p>Location of the discovered pegmatite fields at the Aero property. Pic: Supplied (JBY).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo have uncovered two fractionated pegmatite fields on the Aero property within six weeks of commencing our maiden field program is exceptional,\u201d executive director Andrew Dornan said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe cannot underestimate the significance of these discoveries at our Aero Property given the proximity to key infrastructure, which allows easy access and straightforward exploration planning and execution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have only scratched the surface on our La Grande project, with our flagship Joule property still unexplored.
