{"id":8356,"date":"2024-04-17T01:57:36","date_gmt":"2024-04-17T01:57:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=8356"},"modified":"2024-04-17T01:57:36","modified_gmt":"2024-04-17T01:57:36","slug":"asx-health-stocks-firebrick-skyrockets-80pc-on-nasodines-us-launch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=8356","title":{"rendered":"ASX Health Stocks: Firebrick skyrockets 80pc on Nasodine\u2019s US launch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Firebrick surged 80pc after launching Nasodine in the US<br \/>\nNext Science says it antimicrobial solution is effective<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Firebrick surges 80pc on Nasodine\u2019s US launch<\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/firebrick-pharma-fre\/\">Firebrick Pharma (ASX:FRE)<\/a><\/strong> surged by +80% this morning after announcing that its product, the <strong>Nasodine Nasal Spray<\/strong>, is being launched in the US today.<\/p>\n<p>Nasodine will be available to purchase from the company\u2019s US website <em>(nasodine.com)<\/em>, with online promotions commencing this week across the US.<\/p>\n<p>The Nasodine spray claims to help maintain nasal hygiene by eliminating germs, allergens and other airborne threats that disrupt nasal hygiene.<\/p>\n<p>It will be promoted in the US for \u2018nasal hygiene\u2019 without any therapeutic claims.<\/p>\n<p>Based on legal advice, this allows Nasodine to be marketed without FDA approval. Since 2020, multiple PVP-I (Povidone-iodine) nasal sprays have been introduced in the US and continue to be marketed this way.<\/p>\n<p>However, the company says Nasodine will be the only PVP-I nasal spray in the US that is supported by demonstrated safety in clinical trials, and a growing list of peer-reviewed publications.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur position has always been that if we can make Nasodine available, people will use it,\u201d said <strong>Firebrick\u2019s exec chair, Dr Peter Molloy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a post-COVID world, where everyone is concerned about nasal hygiene, we believe Nasodine is the answer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLaunching Nasodine into the world\u2019s premier pharmaceutical market is a momentous event for our company, culminating more than 10 years of R&amp;D and heralding our transition to a commercial pharmaceutical business,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, Nasodine will be marketed online only, with an online retail price of US$24.99. In the future, the spray is expected to be available in US pharmacies as well.<\/p>\n<p>Firebrick says it has several other products in development, and expects some of these to become available in the future for the US market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe plan to build a portfolio of products under the Nasodine brand and launch them in the US and other markets,\u201d said Dr Molloy.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Next Science says its antimicrobial is effective<\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/next-science-nxs\/\">Next Science (ASX:NXS)<\/a><\/strong> has released preliminary results from two retrospective studies by <strong>Dr Ravi K. Bashyal<\/strong>, an orthopaedic surgeon based in Chicago, Illinois.<\/p>\n<p>The studies found <strong>XPERIENCE<\/strong> to be efficacious in preventing periprosthetic joint infection in patients undergoing knee and hip arthroplasties (joint replacement).<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>XPERIENCE No Rinse Antimicrobial Solution<\/strong> is a surgical irrigation product. It is a clear, colourless solution intended for cleansing and removal of debris, including microorganisms from wounds.<\/p>\n<p>When using XPERIENCE, Dr Bashyal found that the rate of Surgical Site Infection amongst his patients up to 90 days post-surgery has been reduced to zero.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs Dr Bashyal highlights, infection remains a principal driver of negative outcomes for patients and physicians, and XPERIENCE brings much needed innovation to this area of orthopaedics,\u201d said <strong>Next Science\u2019s CEO, I.V.
