{"id":8314,"date":"2024-04-15T01:09:59","date_gmt":"2024-04-15T01:09:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=8314"},"modified":"2024-04-15T01:09:59","modified_gmt":"2024-04-15T01:09:59","slug":"western-yilgarn-scores-new-ground-at-boodanoo-with-promising-gold-target","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=8314","title":{"rendered":"Western Yilgarn scores new ground at Boodanoo with promising gold target"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Western Yilgarn has inked a new Boodanoo exploration licence lease which trends directly north into a nugget field<br \/>\nA 2km long gold in soil target (up to 66ppb) will be analysed through geochemistry and mapping work set to begin in April<br \/>\nThe project also boasts potential for LCT mineralisation<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em><\/strong><strong>: Western Yilgarn\u2019s new exploration lease \u2013 Boodanoo Northeast \u2013 contains an exciting ~2km long gold in soil target, trending north directly into a nugget field held by others under a prospecting licence. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/western-yilgarn-wyx\/\">Western Yilgarn\u2019s (ASX:WYX)<\/a> Boodanoo project now comprises a total of three exploration licences over an area of 130km2 south of Mount Magnet in WA.<\/p>\n<p>It is the second project to undergo WYX\u2019s systematic, new generation exploration practices which continue to deliver success for the company at the Ida Holmes Junction project, 50km southwest of Gold Field\u2019s Agnew project.<\/p>\n<p>Ida Holmes boasts potential for copper, nickel, and platinum group elements with 24, underexplored targets the subject of an upcoming reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Unearthing a 2km-long gold treasure <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This positive development at the Boodanoo project not only expands the explorer\u2019s footprint in WA\u2019s Mid-West region but comprises a hidden gold treasure which has not been investigated previously.<\/p>\n<p>A historical data review by the WYX team unearthed a compelling 2km-long gold in soil target boasting concentrations of up to 66ppb, indicating promising potential for gold mineralisation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to accessing Boodanoo Northeast to complete first-principles geochemistry and mapping work with special focus on the gold in soil target,\u201d WYX general manager Gavin Rutherford said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe small prospecting licences held within our 80km2 exploration lease provide a compelling reason to test the gold target as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Upcoming exploration plans <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The newly identified gold target extends directly northward into a known nugget field held by Little Ripper Gold Inc.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, this nugget field falls within the boundaries of the newly granted exploration license, adding further intrigue to the discovery.<\/p>\n<p>WYX isn\u2019t wasting any time capitalising on this discovery with plans to expand the size of the gold target in an upcoming exploration program set to begin in April.<\/p>\n<p>This program will involve meticulous geochemistry and mapping surveys, providing valuable data to guide future drilling activities.<\/p>\n<p>WYX plans to undertake a thorough desktop review of all available data for the newly acquired E59\/2881 license, which will provide a comprehensive picture of the geological makeup of the area and inform future exploration strategies.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Boodanoo: More than just gold <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>While the recent gold discovery is undoubtedly a highlight, Boodanoo holds promise beyond this precious metal.<\/p>\n<p>Rutherford said the greater potential of the lease, including a 2.4km long x 1.7 km wide lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) target, will also be tested as the company continues its search for nickel, copper, and platinum group elements.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Western Yilgarn, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
