{"id":8234,"date":"2024-04-11T02:27:51","date_gmt":"2024-04-11T02:27:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=8234"},"modified":"2024-04-11T02:27:51","modified_gmt":"2024-04-11T02:27:51","slug":"haranga-resources-continued-uranium-drill-hits-point-to-saraya-resource-upgrade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=8234","title":{"rendered":"Haranga Resources\u2019 continued uranium drill hits point to Saraya resource upgrade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Haranga Resources\u2019 final RC holes continue Saraya mineralisation with more thick uranium intersections<br \/>\nHits of up to 36m at 913ppm eU3O8 extend previously reported positive results<br \/>\nPending laboratory assays to feed into upcoming resource update<br \/>\nAuger drilling to continue at Diobi, Mandankoly and Sanela targets<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> Haranga Resources will almost certainly upgrade resources at its Saraya uranium project in Senegal after the final 19 holes in its reverse circulation drill program returned more thick uranium intersections. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The RC program was designed to\u00a0produce confirmation data for the resource estimate upgrade works for the project, which currently has a resource of 12.4Mt at 587ppm eU3O8 for 16.1Mlb of contained U3O8.<\/p>\n<p>The first eight holes returned significant widths and concentrations that proved to <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/haranga-resources\/\"><strong>Haranga Resources (ASX:HAR)<\/strong><\/a> uranium mineralisation at Saraya is consistent with the model and the resource estimate published in October 2023.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/haranga-resources-confirms-super-high-uranium-recoveries-from-saraya-flagship\/\"><strong>Metallurgical testing<\/strong><\/a> has also proved that ore from the project is amendable to extraction using sulphuric acid, which achieved more than 96% U3O8 recovery.<\/p>\n<p>The company is also using <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/termite-mound-sampling-continues-to-pay-off-with-haranga-defining-two-anomalies-at-mandankoly\/\"><strong>termite mound sampling<\/strong><\/a> as a quick and cost-effective method of defining uranium targets within the Saraya project area \u2013 a process that has already outlined multiple anomalies for further testing using auger drilling.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>RC drillholes at Saraya. Pic: Haranga Resources<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>More uranium assays<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Samples from the final 19 RC holes at the project have been processed using pXRF to determine anomalism and sent to ALS Laboratories in Canada for assaying.<\/p>\n<p>While not\u00a0intended to be used as a replacement for laboratory testing, the pXRF has indicated that these holes intersected significant near-surface mineralisation over wide zones with notable results such as:<\/p>\n<p>36m at 913ppm eU3O8 from 39m including 14m at 1700ppm eU3O8 from 45m (24-SAR-RC-010)<br \/>\n12m at 725ppm eU3O8 from 9m including 9m at 896ppm eU3O8 from 10m and 9m at 844ppm eU3O8 from 27m including 6m at 1159ppm eU3O8 from 29m (24-SAR-RC-011); and,<br \/>\n19m at 554ppm eU3O8 from 15m including 7m at 801ppm eU3O8 from 26m (24-SAR-RC-012)<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, five of the six holes drilled at the Sanela anomaly returned significant anomalism topping up at 8m grading 351ppm eU3O8 from 35m including 3m at 583ppm eU3O8 from 40m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe latest pXRF results from the extensional RC drilling are extending the positive results previously reported for Saraya,\u201d managing director Peter Batten said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll samples have now been delivered to ALS in Canada and we look forward to the assay results, that will allow for a revision of the mineral resource estimation for the Saraya uranium deposit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe RC drill results from the previously defined Sanela anomaly, are the first mineralisation intersected in drilling by Haranga and will require follow up at a later date.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Ongoing work<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Auger drilling will continue at the Diobi, Mandankoly and Sanela targets to further test the anomalism at these sites.<\/p>\n<p>Priority is given to Sanela, but the results at all sites require further exploration to determine the source and tenor of uranium anomalism detected from current exploration.<\/p>\n<p>Regional termite mound sampling over the entire permit is expected to be completed in the current quarter.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Haranga Resources, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
