Accelerate Resources has commenced detailed mapping and sampling at its Karratha lithium projects to double down on future drill targets.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The company recently added four \u2018transformational\u2019 Karratha tenements to its growing battery metals portfolio<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 the Prinsep, Mt Sholl, Mt Sholl East and Roebourne South projects.<\/p>\n

Notably, Karratha is right in the heart of the Pilbara\u2019s 40km-long Karratha-Roebourne lithium belt, where recent discoveries include\u00a0<\/strong>Azure Minerals\u2019 (ASX:AZS)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>monstrous Andover project (exploration target 100-240Mt at 1-1.5% Li2O).<\/p>\n

A high-resolution aerial imagery and digital elevation survey has been completed at Prinsep to assist with identifying new lithium-bearing pegmatites and detailed mapping and follow-up sampling has commenced with a view to planning a series of drill targets.<\/p>\n

The wider Mt Sholl, Mt Sholl East and Roebourne South projects will also be mapped for prospective geology and sampled where pegmatites are identified.<\/p>\n

These projects have never been systematically explored or drilled for lithium.<\/p>\n

Doubling down on drill targets at Prinsep<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Prinsep is particularly exciting, boasting two large, completely undrilled outcropping spodumene-rich pegmatite systems spanning across the entire 2km width of the tenement area and beyond, Accelerate Resources (ASX:AX8)<\/strong><\/a> says.<\/p>\n

Here, recent rock chip sampling has returned grades up to 1.87% Li2O from the Southern Pegmatite system and 1.29% Li2O from the Northern Pegmatite system.<\/p>\n

The aerial imagery and digital elevation survey is expected to assist with geological mapping, target generation, reporting, and general visualisation of the area.<\/p>\n

Integration of the enhanced imagery and digital terrain model (DTM) will be used to construct a 3D map view to assist with lithological and structural mapping, delineation of pegmatite outcrops and optimisation of drill targeting.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A shallow maiden drilling program will be conducted as soon as possible following DMIRS Program of Works approval and any heritage clearance approvals.<\/p>\n

New project manager to accelerate lithium search<\/strong><\/h2>\n

AX8 has also appointed a new project manager in experienced geologist Kevin Joyce to accelerate the lithium search at the Karratha projects.<\/p>\n

Joyce has over 25 years\u2019 experience in the resources sector with an impressive resume which includes the discovery of Leo Lithium\u2019s (ASX:LLL)<\/strong><\/a> world-class Goulamina lithium deposit in Mali which has a resource of 211Mt at 1.37% Li2O2.<\/p>\n

This is expected to preserve up to $600,000 cash to boost the exploration budget.<\/p>\n
