{"id":7830,"date":"2024-04-02T00:46:25","date_gmt":"2024-04-02T00:46:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=7830"},"modified":"2024-04-02T00:46:25","modified_gmt":"2024-04-02T00:46:25","slug":"lithium-hunter-fin-is-about-to-drill-white-bear-a-high-grade-target-down-the-road-from-some-massive-deposits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=7830","title":{"rendered":"Lithium hunter Fin is about to drill White Bear, a high grade target down the road from some massive deposits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fin Resources secures approval for up to 5,000m of drilling at the White Bear lithium prospect<br \/>\nWhite Bear features high-grade Li2O samples, low K\/Rb ratios and elevated caesium<br \/>\nFully funded initial drilling totalling ~1,500m to start in mid-April<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> Fin Resources has received the green light to start maiden drilling at the highly prospective White Bear lithium discovery within its Cancet West project in Quebec, Canada.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ~80km2 Cancet West project is 45km from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/winsome-resources-wr1\/\"><strong>Winsome Resources\u2019 (WR1:ASX)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Cancet project and 100km from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/patriot-battery-metals-pmt\/\"><strong>Patriot Battery Metals\u2019 (PMT:ASX)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0huge Corvette lithium deposits.<\/p>\n<p>Exploration carried out by <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/fin-resources-fin\/\"><strong>Fin Resources (ASX:FIN)<\/strong><\/a> in October 2023 led to the discovery of White Bear with sampling returning both high grades of Li2O and pathfinder elements, along with low potassium-to-rubidium (K\/Rb) ratios and elevated caesium (Cs).<\/p>\n<p>Low K\/Rb ratios are of special interest to lithium explorers as they point to the potential for highly fractionated lithium-bearing pegmatites.<\/p>\n<p>Since the initial discovery, assaying of channel sampled outcrops has continued to prove the presence of lithium, returning results such as 1m @ 2.39% Li2O, 1m @ 2.16% Li2O and 1m @ 1.23% Li2O.<\/p>\n<p>Historical exploration data has also identified a number of <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/fin-resources-identifies-regional-lithium-targets-at-cancet-west-as-white-bear-drilling-looms\/\"><strong>outcrops with pegmatitic material<\/strong><\/a> mapped by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry Quebec that include very coarse-grained pegmatites and an occurrence of beryl.<\/p>\n<p>No exploration has occurred on the majority of the interpreted pegmatite trends, which appear to be associated with the ~10-15km strike length of the Archean-aged Lac Guyer greenstone belt that hosts the Cancet and Corvette deposits.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p>The White Bear spodumene discovery.
