{"id":781,"date":"2023-10-31T23:29:39","date_gmt":"2023-10-31T23:29:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=781"},"modified":"2023-10-31T23:29:39","modified_gmt":"2023-10-31T23:29:39","slug":"fresh-drilling-blitz-to-define-size-and-scale-of-the-lithium-potential-at-battery-ages-falcon-lake-flagship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=781","title":{"rendered":"Fresh drilling blitz to define \u2018size and scale of the lithium potential\u2019 at Battery Age\u2019s Falcon Lake flagship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Battery Age Minerals begins Stage 2 drilling at Falcon Lake lithium project in Ontario, where Stage 1 drilling hit thick, high grade lithium across multiple targets<br \/>\nDrilling will focus on step-out zone at Falcon East and new prospective areas identified by summer fieldwork<br \/>\nProgram seeks to define the size and scale of lithium mineralisation at Falcon Lake ahead of maiden resource<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Battery Age Minerals is back behind the drill bit at its potentially large-scale Falcon Lake project in Ontario as it seeks to expand on recent successes and test new prospective areas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Falcon Lake has been a star for the company since it re-listed on the ASX in February.<\/p>\n<p>Sitting pretty within one of Canada\u2019s prime lithium exploration addresses and having other explorers such as Rock Teck, Imagine Lithium, Ultra Lithium and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/green-technology-metals-gt1\/\"><strong>Green Technology Metals\u2019 (ASX:GT1)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0\u2013 with its 9.9Mt @ 1.04% Li2O flagship Seymour Lake project \u2013 for company, the project features historical drilling that returned up to 24.4m at 1.43% Li2O.<\/p>\n<p>Maiden drilling by <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/battery-age-minerals-bm8\/\"><strong>Battery Age Minerals (ASX:BM8)<\/strong><\/a> confirmed this lithium prospectivity, returning \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/32m-at-1-4-li2o-has-battery-age-has-caught-the-tail-of-spodumene-giant-at-falcon-lake\/\"><strong>standout intercepts<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0such as 31.75m at 1.45% Li2O from 14.46m and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/falcon-lakes-thick-high-grade-lithium-intercepts-are-a-sweet-treat-for-battery-age\/\"><strong>27.6m at 1.37% Li2O<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Its subsequent summer fieldwork program, which focused on areas outside historical lithium occurrences, proved to be widely successful with rock chip sampling along the Falcon Main area returning grades of up to 2.73% Li2O and confirming a 5km mineralised corridor.<\/p>\n<p>Step-out drilling has also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/immense-step-out-lithium-drill-hits-highlight-growth-potential-at-battery-ages-falcon-lake-flagship\/\"><strong>confirmed multiple, thick spodumene-bearing pegmatites<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0across the project area.<\/p>\n<p>The results were more than enough reason for the company to increase the size of Falcon Lake by 69% to 51km2 by picking up the ground between the proven Falcon Main area to Falcon North.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Testing high priority targets<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>BM8 has now started Stage 2 drilling that will focus on the recently discovered step-out zone at Falcon East \u2013 where earlier drilling returned an intercept of 19.1m at 1.34% Li2O \u2013 and new pegmatite zones within other high priority areas identified during the summer fieldwork program.<\/p>\n<p>Priority zones for future drilling based on mapped pegmatites and summer field work \u2013 red dots delineate indicative drill collar locations which are subject to change.
