{"id":7462,"date":"2024-03-21T00:19:20","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T00:19:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=7462"},"modified":"2024-03-21T00:19:20","modified_gmt":"2024-03-21T00:19:20","slug":"bpm-minerals-claws-a-big-prize-with-drilling-defining-1km-gold-anomaly-at-the-louie-prospect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=7462","title":{"rendered":"BPM Minerals claws a big prize with drilling defining +1km gold anomaly at the Louie prospect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BPM Minerals identifies +1km long gold anomaly at the Louie prospect within its Claw project in WA<br \/>\nLouie is immediately along strike from Capricorn\u2019s 16m @ 17.16g\/t gold discovery at Sundance to the north<br \/>\nFurther aircore drilling results pending with application under way for deeper RC drilling<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> Aircore drilling at BPM Minerals\u2019 Claw gold project in WA\u2019s Murchison region has defined a coherent +1km long, +100ppb gold in regolith anomaly at the Louie prospect that appears to be a supergene halo.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is hugely encouraging as supergene halos that are horizontally dispersed above the zone of primary mineralisation within the underlying fresh rock is a classic geological model for gold projects in this area.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/bpm-minerals-bpm\/\"><strong>BPM Minerals\u2019 (ASX:BPM)<\/strong><\/a> Claw project is also immediately along strike from <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/capricorn-metals-cmm\/\"><strong>Capricorn Metals (ASX:CMM)<\/strong><\/a> 3.24Moz Mt Gibson gold project, with the Louie prospect sitting on the tenement boundary just across from CMM\u2019s high-grade 16m @ 17.16g\/t gold discovery at Sundance.<\/p>\n<p>Claw had previously been interpreted to host a southern extension of the Mt Gibson shear zone which hosts CMM\u2019s Mt Gibson gold mine, which produced gold from a modest laterite resource between 1986 and 1999.<\/p>\n<p>Aircore drilling results at the Louie prospect. Pic: Supplied (BPM)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>A significant gold anomaly<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Assays from recently <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/bpm-minerals-is-spinning-the-drill-bit-at-claw-looking-for-more-gold-in-high-grade-territory\/\"><strong>completed aircore drilling<\/strong><\/a> at the Louie prospect returned results such as 25m @ 0.19ppm gold from 30m and 20m @ 0.17ppm gold from 15m that highlighted the coherent +1km gold in regolith anomaly.<\/p>\n<p>This interpreted supergene anomaly is situated over a package of mafic volcanics and volcaniclastic sediments, which are bounded by granites and likely to be the same package of rocks that host gold mineralisation immediately north of the border.<\/p>\n<p>BPM has also completed additional AC holes at Louie to constrain the regolith gold anomaly prior to deeper reverse circulation drill testing of the primary mineralised zone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese results are exactly what we were looking for in this first round of AC drilling, delineating a coherent gold in regolith anomaly at Louie,\u201d BPM chief executive Oliver Judd said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis 1km long anomaly is directly along strike of a 3.24Moz resource so it has every chance of developing into an economic discovery with deeper RC drilling targeting the underlying primary mineralisation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve commenced the permitting process and are aiming to be drilling by mid-year.
