{"id":7452,"date":"2024-03-21T02:31:43","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T02:31:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=7452"},"modified":"2024-03-21T02:31:43","modified_gmt":"2024-03-21T02:31:43","slug":"cosmos-kanowna-gold-footprint-grows-with-addition-of-two-new-tenement-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=7452","title":{"rendered":"Cosmo\u2019s Kanowna gold footprint grows with addition of two new tenement applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cosmo adds two new tenement applications to its budding Kanowna gold project portfolio<br \/>\nTargeting work has identified significant pathfinder geochemistry anomalism associated with high-grade prospects<br \/>\nOn-ground exploration will begin immediately with reverse circulation and aircore drilling post completion of heritage surveys<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em>: Two new tenement applications have been added to Cosmo\u2019s Kanowna gold project, adjacent to Northern Star\u2019s Kanowna Belle mine where +5.4Moz gold has been produced since 1993. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new additions take <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/cosmo-metals-cmo\/\"><strong>Cosmo Metals\u2019 (ASX:CMO)<\/strong><\/a> landholding at the recently acquired Kanowna gold project (KGP) to more than 22km2, comprising 14 prospecting licences across 13km of sealed road in WA\u2019s Eastern Goldfields.<\/p>\n<p>Since announcing the acquisition in January, CMO\u2019s technical team has made considerable progress compiling historical datasets to support targeting for upcoming exploration programs.<\/p>\n<p>Early-stage exploration work, including a review of historical drilling results and wide-spread surface gold mineralisation, has identified four high-priority drill-ready targets at Don \u00c1lvaro, Laguna Verde, Dugite and WKL.<\/p>\n<p>Targeting work has also identified significant pathfinder geochemistry anomalism associated with high-grade prospects at Don \u00c1lvaro and Laguna Verde and the widespread supergene gold at the WKL\/Dugite prospects.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, CMO says there\u2019s been little effective historical exploration carried out at the site with only 12 holes in the KGP drilled deeper than 150m.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Compelling potential with \u2018proven gold mineralisation\u2019 <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>CMO managing director James Merrillees says the additional tenements along with the identification of significant pathfinder anomalism are exciting developments that pave the way for maiden drilling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe potential at the KGP is compelling with proven gold mineralisation adjacent to the world-class Kanowna Belle deposit, including headline drill intercepts of 18m @ 5.3g\/t gold and 10m @ 4.7g\/t gold,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cosmo\u2019s Kanowna gold project and new application.
