{"id":7255,"date":"2024-03-18T00:00:08","date_gmt":"2024-03-18T00:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=7255"},"modified":"2024-03-18T00:00:08","modified_gmt":"2024-03-18T00:00:08","slug":"new-world-resources-declares-greater-confidence-in-antler-deposit-after-making-further-high-grade-copper-hits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=7255","title":{"rendered":"New World Resources declares greater confidence in Antler deposit after making further high-grade copper hits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hydrogeological holes return more very thick, high-grade copper intersections at the Antler deposit<br \/>\nResults expected to boost resource confidence<br \/>\nHoles were drilled to evaluate hydrogeological characteristics of several faults that cross-cut the mineralisation<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> New World Resources has reinforced confidence in the resource model for its Antler copper deposit in Arizona after hydrogeological holes returned some very thick, high-grade intersections.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Antler is a volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit with a current resource of 11.4Mt @ 2.1% copper, 5% zinc, 0.9% lead, 32.9g\/t silver and 0.36g\/t gold (4.1% copper equivalent).<\/p>\n<p>VMS deposits are created as a result of sea floor and sub-sea floor volcanic activity \u2013 and are commonly associated with high grades of copper, zinc, lead, gold and silver.<\/p>\n<p>They are also known for forming in clusters, which is why <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/new-world-resources-nwc\/\"><strong>New World Resources (ASX:NWC)<\/strong><\/a> is now <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/grabbing-the-bull-by-the-horns-new-world-starts-drilling-for-vms-mineralisation-at-new-bullhorn-target\/\"><strong>drilling at the Bullhorn target<\/strong><\/a>, a \u201clookalike\u201d of Antler just 350m to the south.<\/p>\n<p>Bullhorn is just one of 6-8 priority targets the company plans to drill over the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Long section showing significant intersections \u2013 latest results in green boxes. Pic: Supplied (NWC)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Exceptional, high-grade assays<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>NWC has now reinforced the robustness of its resource model for the Antler deposit after assaying of holes drilled for hydrogeological purposes \u2013 to study groundwater resources \u2013 returned further high-grade intersections such as:<\/p>\n<p>33.9m (estimated true width of 17m) @ 3.2% copper, 12.4% zinc, 2.6% lead, 85.1g\/t silver and 0.36g\/t gold (6.9% copper equivalent); and<br \/>\n3.4m (ETW 2.5m) @ 4.6% copper, 7.7% zinc, 1.1% lead, 42.1g\/t silver and 0.26g\/t gold (6.5% copper-equivalent).<\/p>\n<p>Assay results and geological information from these holes will be incorporated into an updated resource block model.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is pleasing that the assays received from recent holes, drilled within the current envelope of the resource block model for the Antler deposit, have returned outstanding thicknesses and grades of mineralisation, very much in line with expectations,\u201d NWC managing director Mike Haynes said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile these holes were drilled for hydrogeological purposes, in due course the additional geological and assay data will help us upgrade the confidence level (and classification) of the parts of the resource that these holes intersected.
