{"id":7090,"date":"2024-03-13T04:09:32","date_gmt":"2024-03-13T04:09:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=7090"},"modified":"2024-03-13T04:09:32","modified_gmt":"2024-03-13T04:09:32","slug":"nickelsearch-nails-key-land-access-agreement-as-drill-planning-kicks-off-at-carlingup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=7090","title":{"rendered":"NickelSearch nails key land access agreement as drill planning kicks off at Carlingup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NickelSearch has signed land access agreements with a private landholder and occupiers at the Carlingup project<br \/>\nThis puts the company in a position to progress and submit an application with DMIRS for drilling<br \/>\nAround eight key targets will be the subject of the first lithium-focused drilling program <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em>: NickelSearch has signed land access agreements with a private landholder and two occupiers, paving the way for the first drill program to test LCT anomalies at Carlingup. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Drill planning is under way at <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/nickelsearch-nis\/\"><strong>NickelSearch\u2019s (ASX:NIS)<\/strong><\/a> Carlingup project after signing key land access agreements over its Carlingup project near Ravensthorpe in WA.<\/p>\n<p>The land access agreements cover eight high priority lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) drill targets identified through geological mapping, rock chip sampling and soil sampling activities at the project site.<\/p>\n<p>All of those targets are close to \u2018the Quarry\u2019 where rock chips over 5% lithium oxide have been uncovered.<\/p>\n<p>NIS now plans to submit an application with the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) for its first lithium-focused drill program at Carlingup.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>\u2018Possibility of a large LCT system\u2019 <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to have reached an agreement with the private landholder and occupiers,\u201d NIS managing director Nicole Duncan says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur team has completed highly encouraging field work that suggests the possibility of a large LCT system, 10km along the highway from Arcadium Lithium\u2019s operating Mt Cattlin lithium mine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Exploration results to date have painted a promising picture of a large-scale LCT pegmatite system featuring a high-quality pipeline of targets (eight in total) that have been prioritised and refined.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Plan showing the eight drill targets in the wider Quarry area. Pic: Supplied (NIS)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Looking ahead <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Next steps for NIS include submitting the land access agreements for registration and applying for a Program of Works (PoW) for drilling.<\/p>\n<p>The company intends to finalise plans for a first lithium-focused drill program over the LCT anomalies identified at the Quarry and the anomalies to its west, south and north.<\/p>\n<p>Drill programs for targets outside of this private land are being prepared.<\/p>\n<p>Drilling will be fast-tracked in areas where there is an existing approved PoW in place.<\/p>\n<p>Additional geological mapping, rock chip sampling and soil sampling is under way to test areas of interest where there was little exposure of bedrock geology.<\/p>\n<p>Follow-up work will be conducted around historical drillholes that had positive indicators for lithium mineralisation where no assay material is available.<\/p>\n<p>Lithium exploration programs at the newly acquired tenements will be accelerated, including mapping, soil sampling and rock-chip sampling.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with NickelSearch, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
