{"id":6954,"date":"2024-03-11T02:25:27","date_gmt":"2024-03-11T02:25:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6954"},"modified":"2024-03-11T02:25:27","modified_gmt":"2024-03-11T02:25:27","slug":"galan-lithium-awarded-tasty-new-wa-hard-rock-lithium-tenement-south-of-greenbushes-mine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6954","title":{"rendered":"Galan Lithium awarded tasty new WA hard rock lithium tenement south of Greenbushes mine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Galan Lithium awarded tenement E70\/4629 less than 30km south of the Greenbushes lithium mine<br \/>\nThe 43km2 tenement is believed to host an extension of the Donnybrook-Bridgetown Shear Zone<br \/>\nAcquisition increases size of company\u2019s 100%-owned Greenbushes South tenure to 315km2<br \/>\nMaiden exploration to start in 2H 2024<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> Galan Lithium has been awarded a highly prospective tenement less than 30km south of the giant Greenbushes lithium mine in Western Australia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ~43km2 E70\/4629 tenement takes the area covered by the company\u2019s 100%-owned Greenbushes South tenement package up to 315km2.<\/p>\n<p>E70\/4629 is less than 30km south of Talison Lithium\u2019s longstanding and prolific Greenbushes mine and only 260km south of Perth.<\/p>\n<p>On the eastern side of the tenement is historical tin workings in the Smithfield pegmatite area which are expected to provide valuable geological insights and indicators to potential spodumene mineralisation patterns within the region.<\/p>\n<p>Given alluvial tins were a precursor to the Greenbushes mine, those historical workings could prove invaluable for assessing the potential of any lithium-bearing pegmatites found on the newly acquired tenement.<\/p>\n<p>A re-interpretation of historical geophysical data acquired by <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/galan-lithium-gln\/\"><strong>Galan Lithium\u2019s (ASX:GLN)<\/strong><\/a> suggests the key Donnybrook-Bridgetown Shear Zone, which hosts known lithium-bearing pegmatites at the Greenbushes mine, extends into E70\/4629.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe grant of this key exploration licence is an important pillar of Galan\u2019s exploration and evaluation activities at Greenbushes South,\u201d GLN managing director Juan Pablo Vargas de la Vega said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe tenure is highly prospective and its geological setting gives us the confidence to commence a maiden field campaign at the earliest opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p>The newly awarded E70\/4629 tenement.
