{"id":6869,"date":"2024-03-08T00:28:07","date_gmt":"2024-03-08T00:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6869"},"modified":"2024-03-08T00:28:07","modified_gmt":"2024-03-08T00:28:07","slug":"asx-health-stocks-heres-an-update-on-algoraes-ai-powered-drugs-discovery-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6869","title":{"rendered":"ASX Health Stocks: Here\u2019s an update on Algorae\u2019s AI-powered drugs discovery platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Algorae gives updates on its AI-powered\u00a0AlgoraeOS<br \/>\nAlgoraeOS can\u00a0predict ombination drug targets using machine learning<br \/>\nAlgoraeOS also has access to the most powerful supercomputer in the Southern Hemisphere<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/algorae-pharmaceuticals-1ai\/\">Algorae Pharma (ASX:1AI)<\/a><\/strong> provided an update on <strong>Algorae Operating System (AlgoraeOS)<\/strong>, the company\u2019s proprietary <strong>artificial intelligence (AI)<\/strong> biopharmaceutical prediction platform.<\/p>\n<p>AlgoraeOS is designed to predict combination drug targets using machine learning, deep learning, and neural network algorithms using the AlgoraeOS Database, which is a vast database of medical and scientific information curated for the purpose of AI drug discovery.<\/p>\n<p>The platform is being developed by Algorae in collaboration with AI experts from the <em>University of New South Wales (UNSW)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The company says that progress in developing this platform is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Data acquisition \u00a0to underpin the AlgoraeOS Database is currently underway across four key pillars of information, which are: drug data, cellular data, chemistry, and biological data.<\/p>\n<p>Initial data being inputted cover scientific and medical fields including chemical structure, clinical drug information, gene expression and drug perturbation data.<\/p>\n<p>These data are obtained from some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, originating most significantly from Merck and Co and Novartis AG.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Supercomputer Gadi<\/h2>\n<p>AlgoraeOS is anticipated to be operational in Q3 of this year, and will generate <strong>fixed dose combination drug targets<\/strong> that will expand Algorae\u2019s therapeutic pipeline or may be licensed to third parties.<\/p>\n<p>Fixed dose combination drugs are medicines that comprises two or more active pharmaceutical ingredients combined in a single dosage form.<\/p>\n<p>Algorae has said that its goal is to uncover these synergistic fixed dose drug combinations in order to develop novel treatments for any medical condition.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, AlgoraeOS also has access to the <strong>most powerful supercomputer in the Southern Hemisphere, called \u2018Gadi\u2019<\/strong>, which is operated by the <em>National Computational Infrastructure (NCI Australia).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Gadi has been used for the likes of climate modelling and natural disaster prediction.
