AdAlta up 20pc on Phase 1 results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Atomo jumps 90pc after reporting a significant sales order<br \/>\n AdAlta up 20pc after revealing\u00a0key results from Phase 1 study<br \/>\nRace Oncology\u2019s drug shows potent anticancer activity\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Atomo up 90pc on HIV kit sales<\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/atomo-diagnostics-at1\/\">Atomo Diagnostics (ASX:AT1)<\/a><\/strong> rocketed by as much as 90% this morning after announcing that it has secured a significant order for its <strong>HIV Self-Tests.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Atomo said it secured purchase orders from US-based\u00a0<strong>Viatris Healthcare<\/strong> for approximately $970k worth of HIV Self-Tests, manufactured by Atomo under the <strong>Mylan brand<\/strong>, for supply to a number of Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).<\/p>\n<p>Atomo considers the revenue from these orders to be material.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have seen growing demand during FY24 for the Atomo HIV Self-Test here in Australia, as well as across branded versions supplied to international markets,\u201d said Atomo CEO, John Kelly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing significant increases in sales to Europe and in Australia, it is good to now see emergent demand across LMIC markets from our global health partner for HIV testing, Viatris.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>What does Atomo do?<\/h2>\n<p>Atomo\u2019s HIV self-test kit provides results rapidly, typically within minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The product is known for its ease of use and accuracy, and was recently launched in Tesco supermarkets across the UK, as well as in pharmacy stores across Germany.<\/p>\n<p>In Africa, the Test Kit continues to be promoted under the brand Mylan.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from HIV test kits, Atomo also owns a portfolio of patents and device development that improve swab and saliva rapid testing.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s <em>AtomoRapid \u2018Pascal\u2019 RDT<\/em> platform meanwhile was designed to make rapid testing easier and more accessible.<\/p>\n<p>The handheld platform includes a unique integrated buffer delivery mechanism that delivers the required quantity of chase buffer at the touch of a button.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>AdAlta says drug could be progressed to Phase 2<\/h2>\n<p>In other news, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/adalta-1ad\/\">AdAlta (ASX:1AD)<\/a><\/strong> jumped 20% this morning after announcing key results from its <strong>Phase 1 extension study<\/strong> of lead asset <strong>AD-214<\/strong>, a drug for <strong>fibrotic diseases<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>AdAlta says the results have positively answered key partnering discussion questions to support progressing AD-214 to Phase II clinical studies in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).<\/p>\n<p>In the Phase 1 study, AD-214 was well tolerated, confirming the excellent safety profile of the molecule.<\/p>\n<p>AD-214\u2019s engagement with its target receptor, pharmacodynamics \u2013 PD \u2013 was consistent with prior studies and consistent across all four doses.<\/p>\n<p>Results from Phase 1 also showed no evidence of antidrug effects, or other effects that might detract from efficacy after extended use in diseases such as IPF.<\/p>\n<p>These results are now being shared with existing pipeline of potential partners, with a view to progressing a licensing or financing transaction in the near term.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Race Oncology\u2019s potential new drug for <strong>leukemia<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/race-oncology-rac\/\">Race Oncology (ASX:RAC)<\/a><\/strong> says its <strong>bisantrene<\/strong> drug shows potent anticancer activity in diverse cell and animal models of <strong>Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In particular, the combination of bisantrene and decitabine exhibits robust anticancer synergy in both cell and mouse AML models.<\/p>\n<p>Race has just presented results from its pre-clinical studies exploring the <strong>combination of bisantrene and decitabine<\/strong> as a new treatment for AML at the <em>New Directions in Leukaemia Research<\/em> conference in Adelaide (March 4-6, 2024).<\/p>\n<p>Data from this study is expected to be submitted for publication in a high-impact peer reviewed journal in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Share prices today:<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\"><\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"et_bloom_bottom_trigger\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/health\/asx-health-stocks-atomo-pops-90pc-after-purchase-order-adalta-up-20pc-on-phase-1-results\/\">ASX Health Stocks: Atomo pops 90pc after purchase order;
