Fin Resources makes a surprise find at the Ross project in Quebec"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Historical work completed in 2007 on FIN\u2019s Ross project identified highly anomalous uranium in soil sampling up to 1,486 ppm U308<br \/>\nFurther analysis completed by Dr Neil Pendock found a significant number of potential uranium occurrences<br \/>\nFIN now plans to complete high resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys across the site <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em>: A review of historical work carried out on the Ross project in Quebec has identified highly anomalous uranium in soil sampling up to 1,486ppm U3O8 associated with low thorium. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This historical data, collected in 2007 by Landmark Minerals Inc with further analysis completed by Dr Neil Pendock, has identified a significant number of potential uranium occurrences across the project, currently held by <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/fin-resources-fin\/\"><strong>Fin Resources (ASX:FIN<\/strong>)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In amongst the historical data was a soil sample of up to 1,260ppm uranium (or 1,486ppm U3O8).<\/p>\n<p>Landmark Minerals held 100% interest in 76 mineral claims on four separate blocks in the Rupert River area of west-central Quebec at the time.<\/p>\n<p>The southern portion of their eastern block, which was named Adrian, covered the location now part of the Ross project.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Exploration planned for spring\/summer field season <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>FIN originally tasked Dr Pendock with analysing the historical data for LCT pegmatites, during this process he also identified a significant number of potential uranium occurrences across the Ross project area.<\/p>\n<p>Gas estimated from Sentinel-2 VNIR showed anomalous helium which may originate from radioactive decay of uranium.<\/p>\n<p>Combined with anomalous pathfinder elements including Total Rare Earth Oxides (TREO) and thorium levels in pegmatite samples 138203, 138204 and 138227 previously reported, FIN believes there\u2019s potential for uranium-thorium-rare earth element bearing pegmatites that show geochemical overlap with LCT (Lithium- Caesium-Tantalum) pegmatites.<\/p>\n<p>FIN now plans to complete high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys across the Ross and Cancet West projects during the spring\/summer 2024 field season.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Drilling to begin shortly at White Bear <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, the company is gearing up for a maiden diamond drilling program over at White Bear, which is part of the 79km2 Cancet West project in Quebec.<\/p>\n<p>White Bear is just ~45km from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/winsome-resources-wr1\/\"><strong>Winsome Resources\u2019 (WR1:ASX)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Cancet and 100km from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/patriot-battery-metals-pmt\/\"><strong>Patriot Battery Metals\u2019 (PMT:ASX)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0huge Corvette lithium deposits.<\/p>\n<p>Following the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/theres-a-bear-in-there-fin-froths-over-new-canadian-lithium-find\/\">initial discovery of outcrop<\/a> at White Bear in November last year, the first 1,500m out of a planned 5,000m diamond drilling program is set to begin this quarter, testing the coarse spodumene-bearing lithium mineralised zone across five pegmatite outcrops.<\/p>\n<p>Rock chip samples at the 138181 pegmatite at White Bear showed 6.5% Li2O with caesium of 293ppm and a K\/Rb ratio of 35.43%.<\/p>\n<p>At an additional pegmatite rock chip sample 138182 on the same outcrop, 6.85% Li2O and 513.9ppm caesium with a K\/Rb ratio of 26.09% was identified.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Fin Resources, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
