{"id":6698,"date":"2024-03-05T00:04:18","date_gmt":"2024-03-05T00:04:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6698"},"modified":"2024-03-05T00:04:18","modified_gmt":"2024-03-05T00:04:18","slug":"boots-on-the-ground-as-sampling-reveals-new-250m-double-zone-target-at-mako-golds-napie-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6698","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Boots on the ground\u2019 as sampling reveals new 250m \u2018Double Zone\u2019 target at Mako Gold\u2019s Napi\u00e9 project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rock chip samples show up to 22.46g\/t at Tchaga North\u2019s Double Zone<br \/>\nDouble Zone now a high-priority drill target<br \/>\nMako Gold\u2019s top brass travelling to site to design new drill program<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em><\/strong><strong>: Two parallel artisanal mining sites named \u2018Double Zone\u2019 at the Napi\u00e9 project in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire are sending Mako Gold\u2019s top brass to site to evaluate the target where high-grade rock chip samples returned up to 22.46g\/t.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/mako-gold-mkg\/\"><strong>Mako Gold\u2019s (ASX:MKG)<\/strong><\/a> ongoing rock chip sampling program at the target area is the gift that keeps on giving, as the latest round of results keeps turning up super high-grade gold hits \u2013 the best of those <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/rock-chips-deliver-the-right-punch-for-mako-gold-with-discovery-of-new-gold-zones-at-napie\/\"><strong>showing up to 79.5g\/t last month<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Double Zone target<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Consisting of two parallel artisanal mining sites spaced 50m apart, the Double Zone at the Tchaga North prospect at Napi\u00e9 is now 250m-long after the latest batch of assays delivered more high-grade rock chip results, which complement the previously drilled 1m @ 44.86g\/t gold in an RC drill hole.<\/p>\n<p>The rock chip samples of quartz veins were taken from reject piles which the miners did not process. Very high grades were discovered, including 22.46g\/t, 16.78g\/t, 12.85g\/t and 4.86g\/t gold.<\/p>\n<p>One of those \u2013 the 12.85g\/t hit \u2013 was from volcanic rock that indicates the gold endowment is not just restricted to quartz veins, increasing the target\u2019s potential to host high-grade gold.<\/p>\n<p>Double Zone is on the western greenstone\/granite contact which has had limited drilling and, to date, is consistently returning very high-grade rock chip results.<\/p>\n<p>Following the completion of the mapping\/rock chip sampling and management\u2019s on-the-ground assessment of Tchaga North, new high-grade targets will be designed for the next drill program.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 250m-long Double Zone target is open to the north and south. Pic: Supplied (MKG)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>All hands on deck<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>MKG\u2019s top brass are arriving at site for a five-week \u2018boots on the ground\u2019 evaluation of the exciting new target area at the Napi\u00e9 and Korhogo projects to get a better understanding of the mineralisation system and other high-priority targets at Tchaga North ahead of the upcoming drill program.<\/p>\n<p>Managing director Peter Ledwidge says the newly named \u201cDouble Zone\u201d, with associated east-west quartz veining, has expanded significantly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe consistent high-grade rock chip results at Double Zone along with its increasing strike length and width potential makes this a compelling high-priority drill target,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur team\u2019s mapping and rock chip sampling continue to delineate a growing zone that now reaches 250m strike length when one includes the single RC hole that returned 1m @ 45g\/t gold.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOngoing work confirms the discovery of a high-grade east-west gold system at Tchaga North in an orientation which is yet to be drilled.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Mako Gold, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
