{"id":651,"date":"2023-10-30T02:50:34","date_gmt":"2023-10-30T02:50:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=651"},"modified":"2023-10-30T02:50:34","modified_gmt":"2023-10-30T02:50:34","slug":"azure-neighbour-greentech-scoops-up-1-82pc-lithium-ahead-of-highly-anticipated-maiden-drilling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=651","title":{"rendered":"Azure neighbour GreenTech scoops up 1.82pc lithium ahead of highly anticipated maiden drilling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GRE reports 1.82% Li2O from latest rock chip sampling at West Pilbara projects in WA<br \/>\nThe projects are close to Azure\u2019s Andover project where SQM just bid $1.6bn for the company<br \/>\nMaiden drilling is planned at the Osborne JV this quarter<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>GreenTech Metals has reported more high-grade rock chips \u2013 this time up to 1.82% Li2O \u2013 from the Kobe zone at its West Pilbara lithium projects in WA.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s West Pilbara lithium projects are close to <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/azure-minerals-azs\/\"><strong>Azure Minerals<\/strong><strong>\u2019<\/strong><strong> (ASX:AZS)<\/strong><\/a> Andover project, where major shareholder Chilean firm SQM \u2013 one of the world\u2019s largest lithium producers \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/lithium-play-azure-says-yes-to-sqms-revised-cash-offer-that-values-it-at-1-63bn\/\"><strong>put in a massive offer for the Aussie explorer<\/strong><\/a> last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn light of SQM\u2019s proposed A$1.6bn acquisition of Azure Minerals, the West Pilbara is truly cementing its position as one of the world\u2019s premier jurisdictions for hard rock lithium exploration,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/greentech-metals-gre\/\"><strong>Green<\/strong><strong>T<\/strong><strong>ech Metals (ASX:GRE)<\/strong><\/a> executive director Thomas Reddicliffe said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGreenTech is looking forward to unlocking the true potential of its tenure in this highly prospective region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Infill outcrop sampling and mapping has now been completed at the Ruth Well project and adjoining Osborne JV (51% GRE; 49% <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/artemis-resources-arv\/\"><strong>Artemis Resources (ASX:ARV)<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>And results from latest rock chip samples at the Northern LCT pegmatite (Kobe prospect) at Ruth Well and Osborne have returned excellent lithium grades of up to 1.82% Li2O along the 7.5km long trend.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A pegmatite outcrop at Kobe \u2013 \u201cNorthern Trend\u201d. Pic via GreenTech<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>What\u2019s the deal with the Pilbara?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The market this year has been set alight by lithium success stories in the Pilbara, namely Azure Minerals\u2019 triumphs at the drill bit on its Andover project to uncover high-grade, sprawling lithium-bearing pegmatites.<\/p>\n<p>Tune in below to hear GreenTech Metals\u2019 Thomas Reddicliffe on the Pilbara\u2019s lithium rush, what to look for when making a new discovery and the company\u2019s latest work in the bustling neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/div>\n\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Consistent grades across the project<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Latest sampling has further demonstrated Kobe has 6km of strike extending from Ruth Well a further 1.5km eastward into the Osborne JV tenement \u2013 where previous rock chip samples have returned assay results of up to 1.80% Li2O.<\/p>\n<p>Notable rock chip sampling assays at Kobe include:<\/p>\n<p>1.82% Li2O, 45ppm Ta2O5 and 80 ppm Nb2O5;<br \/>\n1.41% Li2O, 131ppm Ta2O5 and 74 ppm Nb2O5;<br \/>\n1.27% Li2O, 88ppm Ta2O5 and 76 ppm Nb2O5;<br \/>\n1.16% Li2O, 115ppm Ta2O5 and 107 ppm Nb2O5;<br \/>\n1.14% Li2O, 26ppm Ta2O5 and 83 ppm Nb2O5; and<br \/>\n1.08% Li2O, 93ppm Ta2O5 and 114 ppm Nb2O5.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are encouraged by these latest assays from our West Pilbara lithium projects which confirm the scale and mineralisation potential of our tenements,\u201d Reddicliffe said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImportantly, these high-grade assays further demonstrate the prospectiveness within the 7.5km strike at our Kobe prospect, and we are confident that further exploration and drilling will lead to more discoveries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Maiden drilling this quarter<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>GreenTech is continuing to research and review historic datasets with a view to potentially identifying new lithium pegmatite trends, and extensions to the known trends within the broader Ruth Well and Osborne Project areas.<\/p>\n<p>Mapping and rock chip sampling are ongoing along with a program of infill soil sampling to test the Southern trend within the Ruth Well tenements beneath shallow cover.<\/p>\n<p>The company has also completed initial heritage surveys, allowing maiden drilling program to commence this quarter, Reddicliffe said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInitially, we are planning to complete a stratigraphic drill hole at our southern pegmatite zone to improve our technical understanding of the area,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with GreenTech Metals, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
