{"id":6491,"date":"2024-02-28T18:20:03","date_gmt":"2024-02-28T18:20:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6491"},"modified":"2024-02-28T18:20:03","modified_gmt":"2024-02-28T18:20:03","slug":"follow-the-money-private-investors-are-going-big-on-commercial-property","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6491","title":{"rendered":"Follow the money: Private investors are going big on commercial property"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Private investors were the most active buyers in commercial real estate for the first time in Australia in 2023, according to Knight Frank\u2019s The Wealth Report.<\/p>\n<p>Private groups poured $14.8bn in Australia\u2019s commercial market, equating to 42.2 per cent of total investment, a 12 per cent jump on the 30 per cent share in 2022, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theaustralian.com.au\/business\/property\/private-investors-take-centre-stage-as-wealthy-chase-property\/news-story\/2b5a008b62a516bb57033e6007180bb8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Australian reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The share of private investors was up despite overall investment in the nation\u2019s commercial property market nearly halving in 2023 from the previous year, falling from $64.1bn in 2022 to $35.1bn in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Globally, private capital remained the most active buyers in the commercial property market for the third consecutive year, investing $US338bn ($516m).
