{"id":6403,"date":"2024-02-27T03:42:39","date_gmt":"2024-02-27T03:42:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6403"},"modified":"2024-02-27T03:42:39","modified_gmt":"2024-02-27T03:42:39","slug":"ionic-rare-earths-increases-makuutus-exploration-target-by-40pc-ahead-of-resource-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6403","title":{"rendered":"Ionic Rare Earths increases Makuutu\u2019s exploration target by 40pc ahead of resource update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Increased exploration target to be factored into planned update of current 532Mt resource over Makuutu<br \/>\nTerms agreed with RRM to increase Ionic Rare Earths\u2019 ownership of project to 94% in the coming months<br \/>\nLocated in Uganda, Makuutu is one of the largest and advanced undeveloped ionic REE projects in the world <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em><\/strong><strong>: RAB drilling across Ionic Rare Earths\u2019 Makuutu tenements has increased the exploration target by a whopping 40% to between 285-766Mt @ 400-700ppm total rare earth oxides (TREO).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/ionic-rare-earths-ixr\/\"><strong>Ionic Rare Earths\u2019 (ASX:IXR)<\/strong><\/a> Makuutu project in Uganda is one of the world\u2019s most advanced ionic adsorption clay (IAC) projects currently under development.<\/p>\n<p>The project is well placed to leverage off the growing global demand for new REE supply chains outside of China.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Exploration target increase ahead of MRE update <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Of the 76 RAB drill holes completed in <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/ionic-rare-earths-reels-in-phase-5-assays-up-to-1412ppm-treo-at-makuutu\/\"><strong>Phase 5 drilling<\/strong><\/a> across the EL00147 and EL00257 blocks \u2013 and RL00007 licence \u2013 69 holes have been assayed to host clay-hosted rare earth intersections above the current resource cut-off, increasing the confidence in the existing exploration target over Makuutu.<\/p>\n<p>This maiden program was broad-spaced to identify the presence and tenor of REE mineralisation in the regolith above the underlying fresh rock in laterite plateau areas.<\/p>\n<p>Following assessment, IXR has increased the overall Makuutu exploration target by 40%, which is currently outside of the current 532Mt @ 640ppm TREO resource estimate.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Makuutu exploration target and mineral resource areas.
