{"id":6341,"date":"2024-02-26T02:25:26","date_gmt":"2024-02-26T02:25:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6341"},"modified":"2024-02-26T02:25:26","modified_gmt":"2024-02-26T02:25:26","slug":"white-cliffs-airborne-geophysical-survey-is-the-first-step-to-systematic-exploration-of-coppermine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6341","title":{"rendered":"White Cliff\u2019s airborne geophysical survey is the first step to systematic exploration of Coppermine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>White Cliff Minerals to carry out airborne geophysical survey over Coppermine in Q2 2024<br \/>\nSurvey will highlight and define structural trends, areas of contrasting resistivity as well as electromagnetic conductors<br \/>\nMobileMT will also be used to identify sedimentary and volcanic-hosted copper potential<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> White Cliff Minerals has appointed Expert Geophysics to carry out an airborne geophysical survey over high priority targets at its Coppermine project in Nunavut, Canada, during Q2 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coppermine covers 805km2 of flood basalts \u2013 including multiple, highly prospective mineral showings\/outcrops where historical exploration has identified dozens of occurrences of copper and silver mineralisation.<\/p>\n<p>This previous work returned high-grade results such as 30.24% copper and 34g\/t silver, as well as 30.25% copper and 43g\/t silver from the Halo prospect.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/white-cliff-minerals-wcn\/\"><strong>White Cliff Minerals (ASX:WCN)<\/strong><\/a> previously noted the numerous historical non-JORC and \u2018blue sky\u2019 mineral estimates along a +100km structural trend\u00a0would be a priority for exploration during 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Coppermine is <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/licence-to-drill-white-cliff-minerals-inks-approvals-with-nunavut-planning-commission-for-its-coppermine-project\/\"><strong>now fully permitted<\/strong><\/a> after the company received a positive conformity determination for its licences from the Nunavut Planning Commission (NPC).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Coppermine project, with historical high-grade copper occurrences highlighted. Pic: Supplied (WCN)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Airborne survey to guide further exploration<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>WCN\u2019s plan to carry out the first systematic exploration over Coppermine in decades will kick off with the survey by Expert Geophysics (EGL) \u2013 a recognised world leader in airborne geophysical surveys.<\/p>\n<p>The 2,336 line km survey will highlight and define structural trends, areas of contrasting resistivity, as well as electromagnetic conductors that may be associated with and synchronous to high-grade copper mineralisation at the project.<\/p>\n<p>It will also use EGL\u2019s advanced Mobile MagnetoTellurics System to acquire high sensitivity magnetic data with a focus on both sedimentary and volcanic-hosted copper potential.<\/p>\n<p>Taken together, this program is expected to optimise drill targets and exploration across the Coppermine project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe engagement of Expert Geophysics is a major step for Coppermine,\u201d WCN chairman Roderick McIllree said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince securing the project, we\u2019ve diligently compiled and refined a comprehensive geological database, laying the foundation to prioritise high-potential targets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese activities mark the first substantive exploration efforts in the region since the late 1970s, and we eagerly anticipate leveraging the latest technological advancements in airborne sensing, particularly the innovative Mobile MagnetoTellurics (MobileMT) system, to assist with detailed mapping, sampling, and identify priority areas to focus our time and resources within the license area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with White Cliff Minerals, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
