{"id":6286,"date":"2024-02-23T05:44:48","date_gmt":"2024-02-23T05:44:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6286"},"modified":"2024-02-23T05:44:48","modified_gmt":"2024-02-23T05:44:48","slug":"recharge-metals-sizes-up-potential-lithium-targets-at-its-wapistan-project-in-canada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6286","title":{"rendered":"Recharge Metals sizes up potential lithium targets at its Wapistan project in Canada"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sampling at Recharge\u2019s Wapistan lithium project confirms presence of highly fractionated LCT pegmatites<br \/>\nWapistan West runs parallel to two highly prospective projects in Canada\u2019s James Bay lithium district<br \/>\n2024 field season to focus on ~8km of unexplored greenstone belt at Wapistan West<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em><\/strong><strong>: Targeting is under way for a 2024 field program at Recharge Metals\u2019 Wapistan project in the prolific James Bay lithium district in Qu\u00e9bec, Canada.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/recharge-metals-rec\/\">Recharge Metals (ASX:REC)<\/a> reports sampling results from the Wapistan West prospect confirmed the presence of highly-fractionated LCT pegmatites with potential to host lithium mineralisation.<\/p>\n<p>Preparations are now being made for a helicopter-supported exploration program to test &gt;8km of prospective greenstone lithologies at Wapistan West which could not be accessed during the restricted 2023 field season.<\/p>\n<p>Dahrouge Capital \u2013 part of DG Resource Management which vended REC\u2019s Express and <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/patriot-battery-metals-pmt\/\"><strong>Patriot Battery Metals\u2019 (ASX:PMT)<\/strong><\/a> Corvette lithium projects \u2013 mapped 5km of the 13km greenstone belt in the Wapistan West claim block.<\/p>\n<p>Sampling has shown geochemical signatures associated with LCT pegmatites and evidence of fractionation, and will allow the 2024 field work to concentrate on the most prospective areas.<\/p>\n<p>Analysis of targets will be completed using recent LiDAR survey data to identify potential pegmatite outcrops not previously detected.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Geochemical results at Wapistan West highlighted a number of underexplored areas. Pic: Supplied (REC)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Wapistan West is proximal to Q2 Metals\u2019 Mia and Ophir Gold\u2019s Radis lithium projects where spodumene-hosted lithium occurrences presented at both surface and in drilling.<\/p>\n<p>REC managing director Felicity Repacholi says the recent field campaign was encouraging and outlined prospective areas to explore, particularly within Wapistan West.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResults from the sampling within Wapistan West show evidence of fractionation with 8km of the greenstone belt remaining unexplored,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe team is currently interpreting the imagery from the LiDAR survey, focusing on the greenstone belt with field work planned to recommence in the Canadian summer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s field work will now concentrate on the remaining ~8km of the 13km greenstone belt contained within Wapistan West, with systematic mapping and sampling to be conducted first.<\/p>\n<p>Targets identified by Dahrouge Geological will be added to those identified in historical mapping.
