{"id":6143,"date":"2024-02-21T04:25:22","date_gmt":"2024-02-21T04:25:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6143"},"modified":"2024-02-21T04:25:22","modified_gmt":"2024-02-21T04:25:22","slug":"ionic-rare-earths-reels-in-phase-5-assays-up-to-1412ppm-treo-at-makuutu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=6143","title":{"rendered":"Ionic Rare Earths reels in Phase 5 assays up to 1,412ppm TREO at Makuutu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ionic Rare Earths intersects clay-hosted rare earths in all 52 infill core drill holes of recent program at Makuutu project in Uganda<br \/>\nData to be used to update the project\u2019s current 523Mt resource<br \/>\nUpdated resource expected towards the end of the current March quarter <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em>: Ionic Rare Earths has received a welcome boost ahead of the impending resource update for its Makuutu project in Uganda with the latest batch of results from the Phase 5 infill and extension drilling program intersecting clay-hosted rare earths in all 52 holes. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/ionic-rare-earths-ixr\/\"><strong>Ionic Rare Earths (ASX:IXR)<\/strong><\/a> continues to progress the development at Makuutu through local Ugandan operating entity Rwenzori Rare Metals, with IXR owning 60%.<\/p>\n<p>The company recently agreed to terms with partners in RRM on moving to 94% ownership, which is expected to occur in the first half of this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Phase 5 drilling program \u2013 designed to test extensions across areas A and B \u2013 has now returned results for 52 infill core drill holes at the Retention Licence at the Makuutu heavy rare earths project in Uganda.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Standout results in all drill holes<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Clay-hosted rare earth mineralisation was intersected in all holes at IXR\u2019s Retention Licence (RL 00007) on Makuutu\u2019s western zone, returning:<\/p>\n<p>4.4m @ 1,412ppm total rare earth oxides (TREO) from 1.2m;<br \/>\n8.1m @ 1,261ppm TREO from 3.7m;<br \/>\n3.9m @ 1,077ppm TREO from 2.3m; and<br \/>\n10.2m @ 991ppm TREO from 1.7m.<\/p>\n<p>Makuutu project drill status plan showing the location of infill and extension drilling results on licence RL00007.
