Special Report<\/em><\/strong>: Initial surface assay results have returned from initial exploration at Belararox\u2019s Toro targets \u2013 part of its Toro-Malambo-Tambo (TMT) copper-gold project in Argentina \u2013 strengthening the interpretation the area contains porphyry and\/or epithermal mineralisation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Those two types of geology are important as they increase the likeliness for the ground to contain significant deposits \u2013 as Belararox\u2019s (ASX:BRX)<\/strong><\/a> 320km2 TMT is just north of C$2.8bn market-capped Filo Mining\u2019s massive Filo del Sol copper-gold-silver project where BHP (ASX:BHP)<\/strong><\/a> recently took a 5% stake for C$100m.<\/p>\n

The mine\u2019s reserves hold both high-grade sulphide epithermal copper-gold-silver deposits and copper-gold porphyry mineralisation.<\/p>\n

First assays back from TMT<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Initial assay results from surface rock sampling at the Toro South and Toro Central targets confirm strong indications of porphyry and\/or epithermal mineralisation.<\/p>\n

BRX says Toro South shows potential for both epithermal and underlying porphyry-style mineralisation, while Toro Central displays geological and geochemical traits typical of epithermal mineralisation.<\/p>\n

Assays show up to 1.41% copper, 1.28ppm gold, 421ppm silver, 8.13% zinc and >20% lead across both deposits and are supported by anomalous pathfinder elements such as thallium, lithium, arsenic, antimony and bismuth \u2013 consistent with metal zoning in upper porphyry levels.<\/p>\n

BRX Argentina exploration director Jason Ward says initial assays support the company\u2019s interpretation that mineralisation at Toro South and Central is strong and of the intermediate sulfidation epithermal type which forms high in the porphyry system.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe expect to receive assays from our systematic talus (soil) sampling program shortly which will further delineate the geochemical zonation of pathfinder elements and provide us with further vectors to assist with planning our drill program,\u201d Ward says.<\/p>\n

Next steps<\/strong><\/h2>\n

BRX has a slew of upcoming work on the cards, including an environmental assessment and geological findings for Malambo, geophysical investigations at Toro, as well as analysis and interpretation of soil sample results,<\/p>\n

Initial exploration activities at Tambo Sur are also on the agenda.<\/p>\n

The company is currently in the process of shortlisting contractors to carry out the aforementioned work, as well as for expected upcoming drilling across all prospective targets.<\/p>\n
