{"id":5038,"date":"2024-01-30T00:32:19","date_gmt":"2024-01-30T00:32:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=5038"},"modified":"2024-01-30T00:32:19","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T00:32:19","slug":"new-ground-set-to-help-koba-look-deeper-into-yarrambas-uranium-exploration-potential","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=5038","title":{"rendered":"New ground set to help Koba look deeper into Yarramba\u2019s uranium exploration potential"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Koba Resources expands Yarramba uranium project following grant of two new tenements<br \/>\nProject size up from 4,000km2 to ~5,100km2, adding to its exploration potential<br \/>\nNew tenements include extensions to paleochannels that host the Oban deposit<br \/>\nHistorical drilling intersected paleochannel sands containing anomalous uranium<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> Koba Resources has expanded its recently acquired Yarramba uranium project in South Australia following the grant of two new tenements covering 1,085km2 \u2013 a timely move given the energy metal\u2019s resurgence.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The company had earlier this month reached a binding agreement with <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/havilah-resources-hav\/\"><strong>Havilah Resources (ASX:HAV)<\/strong><\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/koba-turns-heads-with-likely-pivot-into-world-class-south-australian-uranium-district\/\"><strong>acquire an 80% interest<\/strong><\/a> in the uranium rights of the 4,000km2 tenement package in South Australia\u2019s world-class uranium jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p>Not only is Yarramba just 17km north of the Honeymoon uranium mine \u2013 where production recently resumed from resources totalling 71.6Mlb @ 620ppm U3O8 \u2013 it is also 120km southeast of the Beverley uranium operation, which boasts production of more than 40Mlb of U3O8 over 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>But <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/koba-resources-kob\/\"><strong>Koba Resources (ASX:KOB)<\/strong><\/a> isn\u2019t just benefitting from proximity to existing producers, Yarramba also boasts an existing resource of 8.2Mt @ 260ppm U3O8 for 4.6Mlb at the Oban deposit that is hosted within flat-lying carbonaceous and pyritic sands of the Eyre Formation at depths between 80m and 90m.<\/p>\n<p>Oban provides a strong foundation to build substantial resources on, given that it has the potential to host more thick, high-grade mineralisation.<\/p>\n<p>There is also a pipeline of prospects to be explored given the very significant landholding available.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The new northern tenements at Yarramba. Pic: Supplied (KOB)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>More ground to explore<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The newly acquired tenements add more exploration potential to KOB\u2019s ground holding as they include prospective paleochannels which are a continuation of those hosting the Oban deposit.<\/p>\n<p>Limited previous drilling also intersected paleochannel sands containing anomalous uranium, providing KOB with more opportunities to make further discoveries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKoba is pleased to have acquired an additional 1,085km2 of mineral tenure that covers the northern extensions of the paleochannels that we are targeting in our recently acquired Yarramba uranium project,\u201d KOB managing director Ben Vallerine said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnomalous uranium intersections within paleochannel sands have been returned from the very limited drilling in this newly acquired area. This provides Koba additional opportunities to discover paleochannel-hosted uranium mineralisation \u2013 all within a world-class, pro-uranium mining jurisdiction in South Australia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Yarramba project now covers 5,100km2.
