{"id":4852,"date":"2024-01-24T18:10:12","date_gmt":"2024-01-24T18:10:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=4852"},"modified":"2024-01-24T18:10:12","modified_gmt":"2024-01-24T18:10:12","slug":"locksley-appoints-north-america-exploration-boffin-matt-hartmann-to-lead-us-operations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=4852","title":{"rendered":"Locksley appoints North America exploration boffin Matt Hartmann to lead US operations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hartmann is an expert in North American exploration<br \/>\nHe brings 20+ years of experience in project development<br \/>\nLocksley is currently exploring its Mojave REE project, next door to USA\u2019s largest REE project Mountain Pass<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em>: Executive and technical mining expert Matt Hartmann has joined Locksley Resources to lead US operations and drive the company\u2019s Mojave rare earth (REE) project in California.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/locksley-resources-lky\/\"><strong>Locksley Resources\u2019 (ASX:LKY)<\/strong><\/a> Mojave REE project is in the namesake desert in California consisting of three blocks of claims just a stone\u2019s throw from the USA\u2019s only operating REE mine, Mountain Pass \u2013 which accounts for a whopping 15% of global supply.<\/p>\n<p>LKY is planning exploration at the El Campo prospect, where rock chip results returned grades of up to 9.49%.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Mojave project blocks. Pic: Supplied (LKY)<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Hartmann joins<\/h2>\n<p>Hartmann most recently acted as VP of technical services for industrial mineral and base metals finance company Sweetwater Royalties which presides over one of the largest mineral tenures in the world with &gt;4.5 million acres.<\/p>\n<p>He also has experience as a leader for miners such as Westwater Resources, Uranium Resources, Strathmore Minerals Corp and as principal consultant with SRK Consulting.<\/p>\n<p>These experiences have given him expertise across a wide variety of critical minerals including REEs, lithium, graphite and nickel.<\/p>\n<p>Hartmann says he\u2019s excited to be joining the LKY team and to lead the company\u2019s US operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCritical Minerals such as REE\u2019s, will be in high demand over future years and I look forward to leading the Company\u2019s on-ground activity at the Mojave project in California,\u201d Hartmann says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are encouraging results in both rock-chip and stream sediment assays within the project area and I am looking forward to getting on the ground in the near future for the planned drilling program at El Campo,\u201d Hartmann says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe projects are uniquely positioned within very close proximity to North America\u2019s only operating REE mine and the largest producer of high-grade rare earth materials in the western hemisphere, delivering ~15% of global rare earth supply.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith high-grade rock chips of over 12% at the El Campo prospect, I\u2019m hopeful that we can create real success through the drill bit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Locksley Resources, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
