{"id":4607,"date":"2024-01-18T21:53:24","date_gmt":"2024-01-18T21:53:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=4607"},"modified":"2024-01-18T21:53:24","modified_gmt":"2024-01-18T21:53:24","slug":"basin-energy-starts-exploring-for-potential-repeats-of-camecos-millennium-104-8mlb-deposit-in-canadas-athabasca-basin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=4607","title":{"rendered":"Basin Energy starts exploring for potential repeats of Cameco\u2019s Millennium 104.8Mlb deposit in Canada\u2019s Athabasca Basin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A ground electromagnetic survey has commenced at North Millennium and Marshall, as Basin Energy searches for repeats of Cameco\u2019s Millennium deposit<br \/>\nBSN says there is no shortage of targets to test on its tenure in Canada\u2019s Athabasca Basin<br \/>\nPhase 2 drilling at Geikie set to start in mid-Feb <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em>: Winter field work has kicked off at Basin Energy\u2019s North Millennium and Marshall uranium projects, just 7km to the north of major player Cameco and its Millennium deposit and contractors signed for February drilling at Geikie.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/basin-energy-bsn\/\"><strong>Basin Energy (ASX:BSN)<\/strong><\/a> holds three projects in the world-class Athabasca Basin, home to some of the highest-grade uranium deposits globally.<\/p>\n<p>The prolific Canadian yellowcake region has been mined consistently for 65 years and has been a top producer for 45 of those, currently accounting for around 15% of the world\u2019s uranium supply.<\/p>\n<p>Much of BSN\u2019s focus in 2023 revolved around the Geikie project \u2013 a stone\u2019s throw from <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/92-energy-92e\/\">92 Energy\u2019s (ASX:92E)<\/a> Gemini discovery.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, the company will also turn its attention to the underexplored North Millennium and Marshall projects, honing in on an array of targets.<\/p>\n<p>BSN hopes to find repeats of Cameco\u2019s 104.8Mlb Millennium deposit with a ground electromagnetic (EM) survey already under way in the south-eastern portion of the Athabasca Basin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>\u2018No shortage of targets\u2019 <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cThis will pave the way for rapid follow up drilling of these targets,\u201d BSN managing director Peter Moorhouse says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c2024 is setting up to be a big year for the company as the uranium market heats up and we have no shortage of targets which we will be systematically testing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Basin\u2019s North Millennium and Marshall uranium project locations.
