{"id":3495,"date":"2023-12-20T01:02:11","date_gmt":"2023-12-20T01:02:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=3495"},"modified":"2023-12-20T01:02:11","modified_gmt":"2023-12-20T01:02:11","slug":"impact-minerals-moves-closer-towards-hpa-production-at-lake-hope-with-test-pit-program-completed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=3495","title":{"rendered":"Impact Minerals moves closer towards HPA production at Lake Hope with test pit program completed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Special Report: A significant bulk sampling and test pit program has been completed at Impact Minerals\u2019 flagship Lake Hope high purity alumina (HPA) project, ticking off a key part of the PFS currently underway. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/impact-minerals-ipt\/\">Impact Minerals (ASX:IPT)<\/a> has made further progress with a PFS on its Lake Hope project in Western Australia with the completion of a bulk sampling and test pit program.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 5.5t of material was collected from the 25 bulk samples taken from test pits across West and East Lake which host the 3.5Mt alumina deposit at Lake Hope.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, earthworks for access tracks and drill pads for water bores for groundwater monitoring were also completed.<\/p>\n<p>These latest developments come hot on the heels of a <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/impact-reckons-it-could-be-the-worlds-lowest-cost-hpa-producer\/\">positive scoping study<\/a> that indicated the project may be the lowest cost producer of HPA globally by a significant margin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Primed for forthcoming stages of development <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cThis bulk sampling program marks another significant milestone in our journey towards the production of High Purity Alumina (HPA) from Lake Hope and caps off a very busy and successful nine months since acquiring the rights for this exceptional project,\u201d IPT managing director Dr Mike Jones says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn that time, we have completed a maiden resource statement, obtained heritage clearance from the Ngadju First Nations people, completed most of the first phase of metallurgical test work using the unique Playa One sulphate process, and completed a scoping study.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese bulk samples will set us up for the forthcoming stages of development, which will include the commissioning of a mini-pilot plant once the initial test work is completed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>PFS completion set for 2024 <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Jones says the company\u2019s focus for 2024 will be to complete the PFS, which will include setting up the mini-pilot plant and, in particular, producing HPA in bulk for potential customers and off-take partners.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs part of this strategy, we have already started reaching out to key groups in the battery and LED market, and the demand is there,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to a watershed year for Lake Hope, IPT and its shareholders\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Impact Minerals, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
