{"id":3261,"date":"2023-12-15T01:18:16","date_gmt":"2023-12-15T01:18:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=3261"},"modified":"2023-12-15T01:18:16","modified_gmt":"2023-12-15T01:18:16","slug":"in-the-heart-of-gas-hungry-europe-adx-energy-is-kicking-off-construction-of-its-huge-welchau-1-gas-well","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=3261","title":{"rendered":"In the heart of gas-hungry Europe, ADX Energy is kicking off construction of its huge Welchau-1 gas well"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Construction of the Welchau-1 gas well has begun and will take ~5 weeks to complete<br \/>\nADX Energy has an 80% interest in the Welchau economic investment area<br \/>\nDrilling of Welchau-1 expected to start in January<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em><\/strong><strong> Gas play ADX Energy has kicked off construction of its prospective 134 MMBOE Welchau-1 gas well in preparation for drilling.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/adx-energy-adx\/\"><strong>ADX Energy (ASX:ADX)<\/strong><\/a> says its Welchau-1 prospect \u2013 in the heart of Austria, where gas supplies are often constrained \u2013 has exceptional gas resource potential, yet it has a relatively shallow drill depth and is proximal to gas pipelines.<\/p>\n<p>ADX estimates that Welchau has best technical prospective resources of 807 BCFE (134 MMBOE). Welchau is targeting the same reservoirs as the nearby Moln-1 well which tested condensate rich gas in 1989.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, the company has a 60% interest in the Anshof discovery area in a <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/energy\/adx-energy-extends-collaboration-with-mnd-through-farm-out-of-gas-exploration-prospects-in-upper-austria\/\"><strong>recently extended farm-in deal with MND Austria<\/strong><\/a>, a partnership that will aid in funding, accelerate further development and complete the tie-in of two planned appraisal and development wells.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Proving up Welchau <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>ADX says it expects drilling operations at Welchau to start in late January 2024 using the RED Drilling &amp; Services GmbH (RED) E-202 which was used to drill \u00a0the Anshof-2 well.<\/p>\n<p>It recently <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/energy\/adx-clears-final-hurdle-for-drilling-of-potentially-game-changing-giant-welchau-1-gas-exploration-well\/\"><strong>cleared a crucial environmental regulatory hurdle<\/strong><\/a> required to begin drilling operations for the de-risked well drilling, which is 50% funded via an agreement with MCF Energy, for which it will obtain a 20% interest.<\/p>\n<p>The Welchau field in Austria.
