{"id":3227,"date":"2023-12-14T11:36:16","date_gmt":"2023-12-14T11:36:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=3227"},"modified":"2023-12-14T11:36:16","modified_gmt":"2023-12-14T11:36:16","slug":"winner-winner-brines-for-dinner-qx-resources-scores-with-first-hole-at-liberty-lithium-brine-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=3227","title":{"rendered":"Winner, winner, brines for dinner: QX Resources scores with first hole at Liberty Lithium brine project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>QX Resources has completed drilling the first hole at its Liberty Lithium brine project in California<br \/>\nDrilling will kick off at the second hole within the next few days<br \/>\nResults are expected within six weeks <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em>: QX Resources has intersected brines at shallower levels than expected during a two-hole diamond drill program at the Liberty Lithium brine project in the US, already one of the largest lithium brine projects in the country. <\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/qx-resources-qxr\/\">QX Resources (ASX:QXR)<\/a> has been carrying out a two-hole diamond drilling program across the large-scale Liberty Lithium brine project in California, US, with all the hallmarks of success including the right geochemistry, geophysics and geological setting.<\/p>\n<p>The first of two large diameter diamond drillholes holes (500m each) are centred over the highest values of an extensive lithium brine surface anomaly over 10km in auger samples.<\/p>\n<p>This hole intersected brines at multiple depths in \u201cfavourable geology\u201d, QXR says, with the hole producing brines at a good rate.<\/p>\n<p>The company says target horizons were intersected at 49m and 329m depths with large brine volumes (&gt;20,000 litres) being pumped currently.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How are lithium brines different from hard rock?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Stockhead\u2019s Sarah Hughan sits down with QX Resources managing director Steve Promnitz to get the straight facts on how the energy revolution\u2019s future may be <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/notorious-dle-the-lithium-extraction-technologies-gunning-for-the-crown\/\">sitting in the brines under our feet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/div>\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Drilling to kick off at second diamond hole <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, the second hole \u2013 4km to the south \u2013 is centred over a significant magnetotellurics (MT) geophysical target that has been interpreted as suggesting a series of conductive brine bearing aquifers at depth.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Liberty Lithium with surface brine sample results and geophysics profiles.
